The first long-running series I ever really watched was Dragonball, but I've never really watched it all the way through and Dragonball as a series doesn't really resonate with me all that well. But, I will say some of my favorite long-running series of all time are Naoki Urasawa's Monster, Rurouni Kenshin, and most of all, Initial D. I've yet to watch Sailor Moon, but I plan to watch through the original series and the current-running Sailor Moon Crystal after I finish re-watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica (I'm watching it twice, one in Japanese dub with sub, the second time in English dub, and reviewing the series on my YouTube channel as spoiler-free as possible). Thing is, I tend to try and avoid long-running series as being an adult in my mid-20's, I don't quite have the time to watch a long running series. So I generally stick with shorter running ones, like the typical 26 episodes series and the like.

Dragon Ball Z was the first, then Sailormoon and Slayers. Does Pokemon count? While I don't go outta my way to watch it anymore, when it first came out, I made it halfway through Jhoto before I lost interest. I still catch random episodes now and then on Saturday mornings. Oh and Digimon. I think I watched all the way through Frontier.
