Remember RPG's that were actually fun and good?

Zelda does not usually count as an RPG. More of an action/adventure though they are awesome games.

Well it has a tiny bit of RPG but okay I will give you right that its more of an action/adventure. :P

Zelda is not an RPG. It's an action adventure game. But yes, Zelda is an amazing game. And yeah, Chronic, You're right about FF10-14. well, maybe not 10 or 11, but definitely 10-2, 12 and all the 13's. Shit is cray. Its like they think because they have big boobs and music the story and gameplay won't matter. Golden Sun is one of my favorite RPG's!!! I'm actually playing the one for the DS as we speak. Right after I beat X...

I miss the good old story lines. Now they try to make the graphics bad ass and the make the story mediocre. I miss breath of fire final fantasy 6 and 10 and 8, 7 and crono trigger and crono cross and lunar the sliver star story. It was like playing a book back then.

@ nekomimi85 I like giving some games the benefit of the doubt, but I do agree with that. Epic type of story writing did come from alot of SquareSoft games, but when you really work for that storyline to continue is where I think it makes it even more worth while.

square really went downhill when they fused with their biggest competitor+that not-so-good movie they made I mean, why make something with the final fantasy name not FF related? fucking genious Anyways, there are many great gems lately, I like to give a chance to everything JRPG

It's kinda like they improved on some things while declined on what they originally got big from before. I think that movie was more of a gimmick that tried to suck in those who weren't familiar with the game, but that failed horribly... I think it still happens here and there (Dragonball Evolution?) If you have the money to spend try FF XIV Online. Minus the mindless grinding that comes with all of those games they actually salvaged a good collection of stories on the second try. The dungeon fights aren't so bad, since there's actual patterns and strategies and not mindless zerging.

NO! That's something else I absolutely hated too! Hey, you want a good RPG? pay $7.99 a month and you can! Fuck that. And when playing FF11 or 14, when they first started, it SUCKED. absolutely sucked, but after YEARS they finally improved. So for the players that suffered thru it since the beginning, what do they get? Nothing. And for players that are just starting, what do they get? Everything. Pay this much and you can hold more stuff. Pay that and you can get this outfit. NO. just... no....

I actually play FF14, but I digress on the point of mindless grinding, being an ex Ragnarok Online player, you get to max level like REALLY FAST with those fates and the good items aren't so hard to get (except those that you need tomestones to get, but if you're in a good party that everyone knows the strategy by memory those aren't that hard to get) Anyways the game is amazing I'm kinda on the fence about Tales of... games but I think Xillia and Vesperia are good There's also the Shin Megami Tensei series, I was a bit dissapointed because IV was a bit of entry leveled but it was still awesome I'd like to tell something about Xenoblade, but I just got mine on Black Friday and one of my friends has my Wii console >:c oh... and I haven't bought Ni no Kuni yet, someone please kill me
