I have a massive passion for being the person that always thinks outside the box. It is part of my intuition that my path does not always have to follow everyone.
I have been halfway around the world a few times, and I try to keep that modest at best. I love traveling. I've been to Australia and Japan twice. In addition, I have been to other parts of the Pacific. The one thing that I have learned from all of these experiences is that you should never back away from goals that you really want to do. Especially at a young age, you will never get that opportunity to experiences those things again at that point in time. I've always believed that we should always live for the moment, and have fun, because you would never know until it would actually end.
In addition, I have little (sometimes unhealthy) obsession with the Japanese culture. To be quite frank, it isn't necessarily about the anime and video game culture, but rather about the culture lifestyle and history of the mighty giant known as Japan.
Having said that, I also founded and used to run this little club for the city of Reading that specializes in anime, cosplay, j-music, video games, and other nerdy things that relate to Japanese culture. The group is called the "Network of Reading Otakus."
I do like going to anime/nerd/comic/gaming conventions. Some of the cons I've been to include Otakon (10x since 2004), Zenkaikon (4x), Jaycon (once), TooManyGames (4x), Katsucon (once). Cosplays included Ed Elric, Sora from KH, Death the Kid, Umbrella Corp from RE, and Beat from JGR. I now consider myself retired from cosplay, but now have a passion for making video montages of cosplayers and the convention scene. Some of the convention that I hope to attend for 2014 include: Setsucon, Katsucon, Zenkaikon, Jaycon, Anime Boston, ACEN, and Otakon.
Just recently, I've reignited my love for film making. Over the course of a year, I have purchased gear to supplement my expensive hobby. I shoot primarily in DSLR, with various lens, and a stabilizer. Of course, I have more than that, but those are the basics. I gave up a lot to pursue this passion of mine, including walking away from the above mentioned anime group and my full time job. Feel free to visit my youtube: youtube.com/clubjimaydesigns.
