At Otakon one year I saw this old dude (no idea on the age, 50 maybe 60ish?) and he was dressed up as Ash Ketchum. Old Ash Ketchum. He had a long white beard and on his shoulder was Pikachu - with a the same long white beard. It was awesome.

*laughs* old Ash Ketchum I wish I could have seen that although this year I think there were at least three different Master Roshi old guys.

Haha, gotta love the classics! I've also seen an astonishingly accurate (alliterations, yay!) Yamamoto from Bleach. I'm not into Bleach myself, but I've gotta give props where it's due. He matched the character so well. Side note: I wasn't sure what the character's name was, so I googled "old dude from bleach" The first result is the character's page on the Bleach wiki. Wow. Dumbstruck that actually worked.

I'm from York, where pretty much all the Otaku know each other. Seriously. The nerdy folk that I hang out with will randomly run into people I was in anime club in high school with while we're out and I'll learn that somehow or other it wasn't their first meeting. Though given that I was one of three kids in my whole five grade level elementary school to play Power Rangers, I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're such a minority that we find some way to congregate. And both Zenkai and Ota are on my con list next year.
