Practicing Japanese

fiercly_nitta
Just started learning Japanese a couple of weeks ago I'm catching on fairly quickly but I think it would be easier to actually have someone to talk with

I've been studying for about a year on my own. I'm currently practicing conversational Japanese through audio lessons on my commutes.

I'm learning Japanese (Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji, the works!) ad I wouldn't mind being pen pals with someone. Just keep mind, for the first bit I'll be using what you say for grammatical structure. I could be a real ugly process.

I only know Japanese threw.. LOL Anime..Makes me super weebo. I actually just know like words and simple phrases. But I cannot for my life engage in an actual conversation.. I'd be like ' o w o Nani ? ' LOL. I'm pretty weebo but I'm hoping to befriend someone who might want to help teach me a little better.. x.x; Or maybe I could just catch on from what you know.. X//D I really need to take a class, I hope to when I get into college.

Not to sound like a sell-out, but if yer interested in learning Japanese, an excellent resource is YesJapan.com. Their teaching method is very fun, easy, and stimulating, plus their books are actually pretty affordable. I'm learning to write and memorize hiragana, and it's challenging so far, but pretty rewarding, since I can now navigate the menu's in some of my Japanese import games.

I'm down. I'm currently using Pimsleur (I'm on Unit 3)...I'm still WAAAAAAY beginner level, but it seems to be working. I definitely hear what I watch differently (the subs are usually waaaaaaaay off from what I've learned...but you know that already). So, yeah...I can't read anything, and I can barely speak anything (sans very common phrases like "arrigato gozaimasu"), but my comprehension is getting better...the sentence structure is the most awkward part, but it's like riding a bike. With your elbows. I'm sure I'll get used to it at the rate I'm going. Believe it or not, it's a very straight-forward language.
