Slut shaming

It stems from the double standard that men can be as promiscuous as they want to be, but when a woman does it she is called names. The internet gives men that have no scruples more reach and power to hurt people. In truth, more has to be done to help people who are victims of this.

@sadjester Yeeep, I mean that double standard is pretty ridiculous. To be honest you only really see men call other men whores as an insult not because of their promiscuity but because their ability to be MORE promiscuous than them makes them feel insecure to some extent, especially if said whore is involved with a woman they're interested in. The man who's able to attract more women by default is of course going to be a threat so yeah, out comes the 'manwhore' insult. :u

I feel bad about not being to convey how I feel about this topic. Maybe it's a disconnect because I'm a guy with no personal experiences like this.

the fact that the insult is so gendered that you have to add "man" to it is disgusting sex is so damn important to some people either you have to much or you dont have enough guys are begging girls for sex and nudes but then if she gives in shes shamed its mind boggling how something so simple can matter so damn much

I mean, when men go around playing with the hearts of women, sleeping around and giving them false dreams, it hurts me all the same. I barely ever see any kind of outrage over it, but it still tips me over the edge. It isn't about white knighting, but about someone who shares my gender being a total piece of shit to another gender. It hurts to see either way, but I'm not giving either side a pass. When those types of people stick to themselves, it's all fine, but when they try to corrupt everyone else it really pisses me off.

"you act like 4chan are some subrace but their your brothers and fathers" Are you perhaps implying guys like us who don't share the same radical & disturbed ideology as those that enjoy participating in slut-shaming, do something about it? Even if we tried, we would never be successful on changing that segment of men, anywhere, internet or the real world. These "men" have a sense of victimhood, they always go about life with a scorched earth mindset & somewhere along the line, they've convinced themselves women oughta be put in their place when they feel they're(women) not conducting themselves as they(cyber tough guys) deem fit. These people don't change when confronted, they double down which we've seen from a segment of people over the last year but that's a conversation for a different time. As someone who has one parent(mother) & two siblings(younger sisters), this type of problem has always been something I feared because while I can do something about it in person, I know I'm completely powerless over the Internet. As Kaiser said, the majority of these individuals wouldn't ever do half the shit they do if it wasn't for anonymity and the ability to attack someone in numbers, it's a giant circle-jerk for these people, they don't care what lasting damage they do to anyone, as long as they "taught" them a valuable lesson. It's horrifying.
