Achieving Our Goals

I'm going to go ahead and scrap the sleeping goal. I'll need those hours awake after all!

The sleep patterns have be removed from the list.

I'm adding this to the list of my goals, if possible, please. I learned earlier this week that I was headhunted to lead a small group of conflict negotiators in South Sudan for four months and it is possibly the greatest highlight of my career in international development this 2016. However, I feel scared thinking how taking on this challenge and leaving my current work and comfort zone will change me as a person. I'm also 99.98% sure that my family and friends will not be supportive of this as the security and other risks involved may be too huge for someone like me. This is a major life-changing news for me and I need to make a decision on it using the most efficient way that I know -- by making exhaustive pros and cons lists and consulting with a lot of people in my life whose opinions I respect and value. A bulk of this consultation, of course, would be convincing my family that I'm no longer a baby and that I can survive and function outside my comfort zone quite normally, even amazingly sometimes. I need to come up with the final decision as to whether I'm staying here in Papua New Guinea as a marine scientist or taking on a new career challenge in South Sudan as a lead conflict negotiator by 30 September 2016.

My goal is to become a respitory therapist and become successful in my life, I can't fail I promised my dying grandfather and uncle I'd be someone unlike my bum of a father

@Ringo Bingo It's been added. Though honestly, in my opinion, I would stick to my first career if it was me. Don't get me wrong, I would be excited, grateful, and honored that someone would want me for that position. But you can never fully know or be prepared for what happens when you go to some place new. Heck, messed up stuff happens to me when I travel within my own country. Going to a different country altogether is a different story. But for whatever you decide, I hope you manage to be safe and enjoy your work as always. @Juveh I don't think I can really add that to the list. But good luck with that anyway.

Oh I just read the rules xD I'll make it simple. To go back to school by 2017 and start my goal to become a respitory therapist

@Hoody Foody Thanks for your two cents! :D Your points actually sound similar to what some of my colleagues and mentors here have pointed out. The organization I work for actually requires me to travel quite a bit and do conflict negotiation as well, on top of all the science stuff that we do. Papua New Guinea is not my first overseas deployment, but it is still relatively close to my home country and comfort zone. The division of the (same) organization that headhunted me is aware of the work we do and the skill set that we have that's why they were able to scout me in the first place. Be that as it may, it's still quite unnerving because this is the first time I'll be deployed to an actual war-torn environment. It's a wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth, but I know that there are still a lot of factors to consider. Already at the top of my cons list is I don't know if there is any decent body of water in South Sudan where I could swim or free dive regularly. And that's a pretty major con for me! >_<

So I just uploaded a video to my youtube channel recapping today's 3DS direct. First since February. Goal is to now do at least one a week going forward.

@Juveh Added. Be sure to report anything that you did in regards to that every Saturday. @Ringo Bingo It being a war-torn environment is the main concern for me. I may just be somewhat paranoid because of seeing movies that have something similar to this turning out dangerously wrong. And don't say that it wouldn't be the same because this isn't a movie or something like that. Movies are a form of art and most, if not all, art are reflections of real life. And I'm not trying to speak anything bad or talk you out of it. I personally believe that you'll be perfectly fine over there. I just don't think it's ever good to be in warring areas. I have aunts that went over to Iraq for work a couple of times. They said that I could easily work there too, but I refused to because I didn't want to get blown up or something. And yeah, there isn't going to be a good body of water for swimming there. Well there may be a river, but that's........yeah. >.> @RainX Congratulations. Keep it up.

9/3/16 update #3 I really dislike trying to draw character designs, but it's something that I need to be able to do, so I'm working at it. This week I decided to post a part of the design for my character Lucia, who was in my first update: https://s6.postimg.org/5m4hkymxd/Lucia_design_sheet.jpg She usually wears a hooded white cloak, but given that that hides most of her features I decided to start with an uncloaked version. I still have a lot of problems with it, so I'll be refining it some more I'm sure. Also, I actually made a second goal, but forgot to mention it here. Namely, I want to write 2,500 words a week. This week I failed spectacularly with: 8/28 Sunday - 540 words 8/31 Wednesday - 340 words 9/1 Thursday - 82 words (better than Monday and Tuesday combined!) 9/2 Friday - 377 words total - 1,339 words out of 2,500 There's definitely some room for improvement.
