Friends are fine, nothing wrong with finding more as I used to have plenty. Well at least until some forgotten I've existed.

You can set your goal at first to just make friends, and then you can try to work up from it

And finding a girlfriend shouldn't be something that is done in a night. Relationships made without getting to know a person properly are pretty brittle and do not last for long
