^u just copied the quora answer XD https://www.quora.com/Why-don-t-law-enforcement-officers-use-tranquilizer-guns-when-they-re-shooting-someone-as-a-way-to-control-the-situation-without-definite-consequences But cool, its a nice reply :p

Your point? It's true. I'd link it instead, but then you can't link to specific answer. It's best to get answers from professionals, Wouldn't you agree? Unless you expect that I'm getting all my statistics due to gained data of my own, and not already done studies XD.

i spec tank mostly so i believe a good offense is the best offense, but thats offtopic >w> and as i said, the majority of people will not ever need a gun for protection can you name something that should be banned that acts the same as a gun? thats only purpose for existing is to inflict mortal wounds and nothing else? (i dont count intimidation as it was not built for that, but for inflicting mortal injury and the intimidation factor only comes from its manufactured purpose)

I dont have anything against that tranquilizer answer, but i dont agree with the knife argument.. knife and guns are waay differemt to be compared, guns are lethal as in long range combat, mass murders and easily misused.. knifes cant be easily misused and neither can it cause mass murders moreover its a short range weapon. If you are gonna compare knife with a gun then i will compare nuclear weapons with a gun too making it legal for civillians to use :p Yes you cant make up your own statistics, so when u give numbers we know its from a source, but when its an explanation/reasoning then normally we assume its your own >.>

actually knifes of a certain length blade are already illegal >w> *that feeling when we have more knife restrictions then gun restrictions*

Well the problem with doing anything with guns in this country is just the sheer amount of guns that are in circulation at this point, not even in just this country but guns coming from south of the border as well (which ironically may or may not be the same weapons that were sold by the US government to arm certain groups in central america in the past, they'd just be returning home more or less. :U). There's just too many guns to do anything about it at this point. We definitely could work on mental health though, but even with that there's still too many variables. It's kinda hard to just pinpoint when an unstable person is just going to pick up a gun and hurt someone. All we can do in situations like this is be like "lol, how about working on mental health?" but where exactly can we apply that once we do work on mental health? There's obviously underline issues with our society that cause incidents like these to occur, just taking away guns or checking for mental instability can't curve every incident. There's no fix-all solution for a society that's already flawed in a way that can cause behaviors like this.

The fact it was solely made to make wounds is the point Lamby. It's to neutralize a threat as quickly as possible for the safety of yourself, and anyone else in need of protection. Same reason Swords were made in the medieval age. We just got better weapons over time. You will need a gun for protection if you are attacked, which many are in this country, especially now, where either side of the politics is calling for violence. While a knife is nice(And I know, as I am a collector.), A gun will always be a better source of defense. I don't care whether it is a mortally wounding device. That's the point. To stop other's from hurting you, your family and whatever else is in need of protection. Considering how few deaths in the U.S. are caused by guns compared to other things, the pro's far outweigh the cons. Especially considering they stop 1-3 million crimes per year as well on top of that. Personally I'm more of a DPS, or Glass cannon when it allows. XD

PEOPLE created guns. PEOPLE use guns. They also made more weapons of mass destruction and use that as well. Like I said, people kill people. It simple as that. You don't see a gun controlling a person. It's the person that controls the gun. So, blaming it on an object is stupid.
