But not everybody willing to work for the lower wages would be "shitty" though. A lot of them would be hard working people that are exploited.

Personally, i think economics and finances should be required courses on high schools. Want to prepare kids for life? Teach them to budget, pay taxes, how to invest, how to be more fiscally conscious individuals.

Some people are also happy with having less and still work hard. I for example give a shit about money as long as I can afford food + apartment + fuel. My job is fun and blacksmithing definitely does not boost your life span :D

And again, less stupid regulations lower barriers to entry mean more jobs and a more empowered laborer. It balances out in the employee's favor. And if it doesn't work, we go back and try something else

No minimum wages were tried in the Victorian era. It didn't work out so well, because businesses didn't turn out to be so benevolent, but actively sought out cheapest labour they could find (children and women).

Well of course the bottom dollar is the biggest concern. But we're Americans in the 21st century. A lot has changed. I've already explained before how raising the minimum wage can and has been used to uproot the poor from their areas. Gentrification is not just a pretty sounding word.

Germany didn't have a minimum wage until 2015. With the first of January 2015 the first minimum wage had to be paid. 8,50€ per hour. Since 2017 the minimum wage is now 8,84€ per hour. It worked without as well as with minimum wage.
