I confess that I'm too cheap to allow myself to pay for the kind of groceries needed for a good home cooked meal so now that I don't live with family anymore I miss good home cooked meals sometimes.

Kid, Learn to cook on a budget, then. If you've got at least a few hundred extra dollars each montg, you've got more than enough to eat good on your own. So many cheap meals are possible.
