I confess what you really need is a plasma lamp. Don't (Or do )put metal on top of one though, the electricity jumps through the glass and burns you a little...Not that I've done that on multiple occasions because I don't learn. But, really, there are some pretty cool experiments to learn about electricity that you can do with them.

I have one of those balls. I'm ballzy like that. It was fun and interesting from an electrical point of view for a bit, but after learning how it works and then playing with it for a while it got pretty boring. <_<
