Back In My Day.....

Back in my day we packed mud on our huts to keep it warmer during winter and we'd sharpen our stone tools for hunting woodland creatures.

Back in my day, there was no Internet, smartphone, nor cell phone on every corner. Everyone was not sitting on there ass on a computer or smartphone. All the kids would come home torn up, from playing outside and going to the bike jumps. Back in my day, life was better.

It was, jojo, it was... Kids are getting soft today.

Back in my day people sat back and relaxed to an entire album front to back on LP or tape. They didn't flick through different mp3's every 5 seconds like a chipmunk on crack with ADHD. Back in my day when you watched tv it was a choice between about 6 channels with whatever came through well with how you oriented the rabbit ears. We had shows like Star Trek, Lost in Space, MASH, St. Elswhere, Night Court, Cheers, Three's Company, Silver Spoon, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, Knight Rider, Bionic Woman, CHiPs, Little House on the Prairie, Hill Street Blues and others. Not many channels but all good shows and movies too. Now we have hundreds of channels but most of the shows suck; Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Jersey Shore, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, etc. (Ok, recently there have been some better shows like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead etc.) Back in my day MTV actually played music videos. Back in my day gas was .99 cents a gallon Back in my day you could buy a brand new car for $4,000 (ok it was a Yugo but it was still a new car) Back in my day 14 wasn't jailbait yet in many states. Back in my day I didn't talk back to my parents or lie to them because if I did daddy would get his belt out. Back in my day schools still used huge wooden paddle's to spank naughty kids. Back in my day we all ate dinner together and didn't get to leave the table till you ate your vegetables. Back in my day we said "please" and "thank you" because it was polite. Back in my day the closest we had to porn was those scrambled channels we didn't really get but you could sometimes catch a glimpse of boobs. (I watched Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity that way, while listening for my parents in the next room). Although a friend did sneak a couple Playboys from his dad's collection once when we were 10. Back in my day we used a map and it worked just fine. We didn't need no fancy shmancy talking GPS telling us to take a right............into the lake! Back in my day we used phones for making phone calls. Back in my day you could use cash or check to pay for anything. Back in my day people were either straight, gay or bisexual. (no panromantic demisexual genderqueer SJW special snowflake craziness) Back in my day you could afford an apartment or small house rental and car with insurance on a minimum wage job with money left over. Back in my day (some) transformers were still made out of metal. Back in my day we still thought we would have flying cars, interstellar spacecraft and moon/mars bases by the year 2000.
