I agree with Neko. The quran needs some updating, because crazy people can so easily justify themselves going on a mass killing spree. I don't think all humans are naturally born evil. That's why some people interpret the quran in a good way, and many interpret it in a bad way. The problem with the muslum faith is that fundamentalists are so ass-backwards they are unwilling to append any changes to it. For instance, in places like Afghanistan, a woman can be raped by a man and sentenced to 15 years in jail for putting shame on her husband. She can also simply be beaten to death by her husband for any reason at all while the police watch. When the women organized and try to put an act to put an end to this violence and protect women, it was fully rejected. A western female reporter went to Afghanistan and interviewed one of the congress leaders about it, and he said in Arabic that she should have her nose cut off and sold into slavery for talking to him like she was an equal. Fundamentalist Muslums are barbaric.

Except female genital mutilation, the tragic consequences that happen to women when they're raped, and many stuff that we associate to being a problem in the muslim community also happens commonly in christian nations in africa. And qualities that we're hoping for here, such as a female president, has happened in some muslim dominated countries.
