Having someone you love hurt horribly and being powerless to protect them or help. Followed shortly by the fear of losing them completely forever. Having experienced that, I haven't felt anything to match it since. Of course theirs always the fear of dooms day, when the Internet dies, and you can no longer get new anime episodes of your favorite series, right after the most dramatic cliff hanger of the season. That would be truly horrific.
