Any otherkin or fictionkin?

jikokun
Guys, let's just stop. This isn't going anywhere but downhill. He's getting upset, so please drop it. It's fine to ask questions about it, but this is a serious topic for him. Tomi, please also calm down. If it's what you believe and feel, then be glad of that. Don't get upset and provoke more hate towards this. To be honest (and this isn't meant to be disrespectful), it's hard for me to understand the fictionkin aspect of kin-ism. I won't argue that it is or isn't possible, but as a therian myself, I can't wrap my head around it. Irrespective, be yourself and don't get upset, it's just going to lead to bad times.

aaa yeah I'll calm down. Sorry, it's just a topic I feel very strongly about.

It's ok, just let's all be respectful

> Mental illness isn't some country club where you have to have a diagnosis to be valid. It is entirely necessary to have a diagnosis from a professional to claim it. And for someone whose an adult, you should know better. Self diagnosis is very error-prone, dangerous if you seek medication you don't need based on it, and is insulting and a disgrace to people who do have mental illness. For the record, my total costs for therapist visits have been a $20 co-pay each visit. I have insurance through my work, and for those like yourself, you could always apply through medicaid or healthcare.gov to obtain insurance, from there, the costs are extremely manageable. If you can't spend $40-$80 due to being unable to work, and being disabled, then your caretaker/parents or SSDI should cover it. I'm not saying this to be mean or intolerant. I'm saying this because you're making sweeping generalizations, and giving off advice that someone could read and proceed to harm themselves unintentionally. You're lucky enough to live in a country that cares a lot about handicapped people, take advantage of what's offered! I'm saying this not because I'm trying to hurt you, rather, I see an opportunity to educate someone and make someone more informed. Besides the unusual curiosities, and the fallacious logic, I don't have a negative opinion of you. The *kin culture and your odd interpretation of MPD aside, you seem to be a person who was bullied and abused, and hey, that's very common, you just need to be informed of how to help yourself. If you're mentally ill and have all of that, you should be able to get SSDI, medicaid and be able to go to a shrink you like and trust as often as you need to.

I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree because we can keep repeating the same points and I neither of us are going to change our minds. Though, I will say that I'm on Medicaid and applying for SSDI. I wasn't talking about my personal situation for that. I also have a great therapist who I've been working with for about a year now so I can get better and get on with my life. But right now this is where I am and this is what I think.

Okay, good, I have a lot of respect for someone who obtains the help they need. Best of luck to you.
