What to do when you're anxious and depressed?

ssj2morgan
I get what you going thru and as human being i can assure almost 75% of us anywhere have been thru or are going thru what you are. Anxiety and depression if supressed and not treated could be deadly literally, if not to your body, to your soul. The best thing to do as everyone mentioned is to seek help, if not from professionals or guardians, then from friends or even strangers. Before i got into forums and social media i use to rely on my social life outside of the internet, but sometimes its hard to tell your parents or friends or even close people to you of what you are going thru because they might think like you mention one is overracting, or being inmature for not being able to handle situations, so i had found that sometimes telling strangers like friends i met online thru games or forums, or even people who are going thru the same thing to be more helpful, because you can open up as much as you want and not be judged. And if you are judged? Who cares you dont know them and can easily unfriend then or delete them, But in doing so you can find out not only how many, kids, adults and even elderly people go or have been thru the same thing but also they can serve as an indirect help towards you overcoming that anxiety or depression. Just remember stay strong because specially at a young age one has a lifetime to change those feelings and become happier or at least live more comfortable day by day. Depression and anxiety is beatable, think of it as a final boss if you like video games or in anime, and sometimes that final boss you have to defeat is yourself, and you already took the first step by admitting you want to overcome it, now make it a quest to beat it.

You're welcome Sachi, I'm glad I could help you out o/ But there's no rush for anything - getting better is a delicate and often a lengthy process, it is like I said start; small and gradually go bigger and bigger and once you know you're ready to tackle something then just do it and if you fail, it's not an issue - just try again when you're up for it o/ Just don't be scared of failure Sachi, embrace it and learn from it to become even better - and if anyone does betray you, that's their mistake; not yours, it's all their loss for losing an amazing person like you - it's never your loss in the end because people like that just aren't worth it. So just keep that in mind and don't worry Sachi, you'll do just fine o/

Well, I've dealt with depression all my life. I've learned what works and what doesn't. First, running away from it doesn't work at all. Addressing the feelings is the first step, which you seem to do. Some people think diving themselves into work- actual work, school, or chores- is a way to cope, and it does for awhile, but eventually a person collapses. I've learned alcohol has a similar effect; at first I was happy, then after awhile it brought out a lot of unresolved feelings. I have learned that doing what I like helps a lot, like watching anime (cliche here) or another program, or video games, reading, or listening to music. Sad music does help me sometimes deal with depression. But sometimes all those things aren't enough, so I just say in bed and sleep it off. For an extended period of time that is unhealthy, but after some rest, I feel in a better place to tackle my emotions. Escapism doesn't work, but a change of scenery does work. Sometimes a walk, or trip, or even just doing something you don't usually do will lift the spirits. In addition, finding someone to talk to does help a lot. But they have to be someone you trust, not just a pity friend as I call them

Hey there once again guys, been pretty busy keeping my mind of things. It didn't really work out but I was having fun I guess. I talked with my ex a couple of days ago, didn't go well. He actually ditched me on the spot LOL but I'm okay now, I came to a conclusion he was just messing with me anyway. (According to my friend I have been manipulated, which does makes a lot of sense.) Recovering now! So far, I'm doing just fine, which is why I'm back here. ^^ And of course, it's nice to read all of your advice and own experiences, some of you really helped me, thank you.

Sometimes when i get depressed or anxious i just do something that helps me relax. Like listen to my favorite music, watch tv. Something to just take my mind off of my problem until it's important, but that's just me. And also, your ex doesn't really sound like a nice guy. If thinking about him gets you anxious or depressed then you should do something about it. If you like him then maybe try to get back together, if not then maybe move on. Its your choice.

Music at vol lvl 8 or 9 to drown out the world and your thoughts.

I've suffered from depression at various levels throughout most of my life. Video games have always been my main prescription to deal with both anxiety and depression. I've refused to see a doctor about my condition and have preferred to keep it a secret. I know how you feel about surviving life and not really living it. You're very young, though. You have a bunch of time to turn things around. I'm still trying to fix myself so I don't really have any advice for you, but just try to take things one step at a time.

I listen to music or write down what I'm thinking in a journal. Just letting out all of those negative emotions in a positive way helps. The world only seems so dark because of all the light in it.
