> The good Lord asked us to forgive. That is the Catholic way. Heh, how ironic. The religion who mostly has defended child molesting priests - preaching about FORGIVENESS! I don't hate though. Hate requires a passion. I am more dislike and disengage type of person.

Forgiveness is the hardest thing a person can do. It is easier to hate some or feel hurt. The greatest thing a person can do is love, and forgiveness is a form of love. Because you need to love someone in order to forgive them. Love is not the same as liking someone. Loving everyone is what my religion teaches; maybe some people think the Church is about hate. I don't hate anyone, nor do my priests or congregation. We have a Holocaust survivor in our group. He told me today that love is the key to happiness and that is what God asks of us. If a Holocaust survivor can forgive his tortures, than why do we hold grudges? Why do we feel entitled to hatred, passive aggressiveness, and open disdain?

If you have nothing nice to say don't say it.

@Darkhorse-san Because it gives us something to focus on. Some people hate for so long, they don't know why they hate. They become afraid that if they don't hate they'll have nothing left to do with themselves. It's part of their identity. Without hate you're left with introspection and... people hate introspection.

Everyone can learn to forgive and love. It just takes time

>*SIGH* dude way to soil the subject... What do you care? I only combat hypocrisy. >The greatest thing a person can do is love... blah blah blah religious stuff...Why do we feel entitled to hatred, passive aggressiveness, and open disdain? Because humans are animals and have primal desires. While I'm not advocating people to behave like their ape ancestors, human nature includes anger. I despise the Church, in all forms of existence. It is the greatest evil in all of existence. You forget the Crusades, Inquisition and even before those, the mass murder of Roman polytheists by Roman Christians. It spreads itself through violence. You want a truly peaceful religion? Try Buddhism, or Jainism. Neither has been spread by VIOLENCE in the thousands of years they have existed. Hypocrisy. I bet your Catholic ancestors forgave the people defending their homes as they disemboweled women and children.

It is better to judge a person individually instead of as a whole group. If you judge African-Americans as a hole, that's racist, but young people nowadays think it's okay to judge all members of a religion as a certain way. I don't condone the actions of pedophile priests. Or the sexism of the clergy. And I could debate the accusatory things you claim about my ancestors, my congregation, and myself from my unique perspective. But it would be long and drown out. All I can say is what I've already said. You can't judge a whole religion as this or that.

> You can't judge a whole religion as this or that. Watch me. Christians are hypocrisy. They obstruct science, aggressively pursue, embrace, extend and extinguish. Galileo was disgraced, they adapted their religion to paganism to infect it and destroy it. Christmas and Easter are pagan holidays, Modraniht and Oestore respectively. The Inquisition murdered hundreds of atheists, moors, heretics and undesirables. Then there is the fucking Salem Witch trials. A Christian world is self destructive and counterproductive. World War 1? Waged between CHRISTIANS! World War II? Christians vs Christians vs Buddhists ( No, Germany and Japan were not collaborating as much as people think. ) Vietnam? Buddhists rebels fighting against a Christian autocracy, sanctioned by the Roman Catholic church. Also, need I add the Catholic Church supported Fascism? I think I've staked this vampire.

All I can say is focusing on the past will only lead to future conflict. I didn't know people here were so prejudiced towards my religion.
