I hope I become a old grandmother and seeing my kids children watching pokemon still with them before I die ^^ to tell them everything about the original series of my childhood would be a dream come true.

@randy & kohagura well like I wrote the older you get the harsher it gets. To her it was a depiction of being a man child having both anime and games and still both playing/watching and colllecting them. It didn't matter I had a stable job paid bills and was very good to her. The fact that she thought I was a kid in a grown mans body was just a deal breaker. I didn't mind it as much, it just put things into ... well one of those "wtf just happened here" kind of moments. We had a "chat" like a day or two later, and her way of looking at it was that we would still be together if I chose to give up my "hobbies" as she put it. I just got up and walked away from the coffee shop after paying my part of the bill. She knew I hated people trying to change or manipulate me so the look on her face told me she thought she was worth more thn my hobbies. Unfortunately for her... we had just a few months going out so she wasn't important enough to even try to work it out with an ultimatum like that. And the other one. That ended like this was because her younger brother was a neet who only played videogames lived with her parents failed college and so forth. So I wasn't him not wven close iin situations. And yet she just told me that now that she knew I "liked" videogames she was going to compare me to her brother. I actually mentioned therapy for her bro and her To see if they could solve problems and fix their situation. And it was like insulting her ancestors. Oh well I'm still looking to see if I find someone who accepts me and likes me as I am haven't had much luck thoguh .... heh

That is sad. Some people really judge others too harshly based on just one of their own experiences, and it just has this vicious cycle especially if they spread it on as an exaggerated stereotype, like "Oh if this person likes this, they are this". I remember seeing it happen a lot in middle school too. "If a girl wears these type of earrings, she's a hooker", was one particularly sad one that a group of girls used against one other girl, whispering it within earshot(which is how I overheard). I can understand something that would physically harm others like smoking, gambling addiction, or violence, but a harmless hobby like what genre you watch is ridiculous. :( I'm not fond of people who do that whole, "It's either your hobby, or me!" thing either. I find them to be possessive if they cannot "share" you among other people or hobbies, like they're imprisoning you and not giving you freedom. It's just like one of my close friend's ex, where he'd constantly hog her and not let her spend time with us... and when she started gradually spending more time with us, he ended up cheating on her before dumping her. It was weird because he was fine being friends with us and hung out with us regularly before getting together with her. After getting together he transformed into a major jerk and everything we did suddenly annoyed him and he ditched us. Maybe he was using us as a way to get close to her...

@boundbyluck My boyfriend was going to give up his hobby of loving anime, manga, liking robots and anything to do with this hobby for a girlfriend before even meet me. I've proven him wrong that they're people out there who will love you for who you're and not what you're not. You shouldn't have to change for anyone or anything at all, it's your personality and it isn't a bad hobby at that well there so many worse things going on in the world that is a hobby namely drugs and alcohol. She doesn't understand what these are called them *childish* things to be in anime form and doesn't understand these can be enjoyed in any age not matter what race or country you live in. It's a art form and a very beautiful one at that, animation isn't something to be a shame about loving art & stories. If she doesn't understand things like this she is overly not the one and she a very selfish wanting her own way of changing you. Who needs people like that well you can get a girlfriend who does respect you and loves anime/games just like you. She hasn't done her research on it for you and hasn't even bothered to even try to like it or understand it with you, who needs that? no one. I wonder rather find someone that has the same interest and is just like me than someone that doesn't try for me, you can't even develop liking and than in to loving them as a person if you don't have these things in common, the same levels of agreement, opinions and communication is very important.

Ma grandma watches anime. Tis true. Sure I was the one that infected her, but that's not the point. Good writing is good writing. Period.
