What's with all the Jew jokes?????

I agree. It is a case by case basis. Like I was saying with stereotypes, what if you match up with a stereotype? This harder to sort out than I thought... It's almost like talking about is and isn't obscene.

I am a history lover myself! In fact thats my major. I specialize in the ancient world and western civ. I am currently studying mythology to further my understanding of history and the world we see it today.

I doubt the lead is causing the cancer. It does cause a host of issues, including damage to pretty much all major organs, but cancer is one of the less possible side effects. As for the Jew jokes, I hear them a lot as well. The odd thing is that telling a racial joke about Jews is usually far more acceptable than other racial jokes. Concerning racism and stereotypes, I don't think it will ever go away completely. It is human nature to want to target the differences between people. Besides, not all stereotypes are false, that is how they became stereotypes in the first place. Another group that it seems to be okay to make fun of are fat people. I personally let it roll off my back and not bother me, but it really hurts some.

I'll be honest, I hope not to offend anybody but I might. While not believing in racism I still find racist jokes funny, but certain ones and to a point. Usually because somewhere buried deep down there is, or was, some grain of truth that is/or was evident. I do not engage in racist jokes with other people unless I first know THEY are okay with it and usually then I will avoid any of their particular race/ethnicity unless once again they start one on that line. I'm white/American and I'm sure I would even enjoy a few concerning white's or americans if I knew any. Honestly its probably because I'm white/American that I don't know any about that. I know one or two blonde jokes and I enjoy them and I'm also a blonde. Do I take the content of what the joke says seriously? No, do I find some twisted humor in them, sadly yes. I hope I've helped answer your question unless I was completely off base here in which I apologize and I'm sorry if I offended anybody with what I've said.

The more posts I see added here, the more it makes me realize that this topic has no answer.... Then question is what is comedy? As a professional magician I use comedy in my show. But all comedy is just about making fun of something. Even slapstick... So we all enjoy comdy yes? But sometimes people will be offended by a type of comedy. In the maic community we have magician jokes, which are only meant for magicians. If someone else heard them... I'd hate to imagine the confusion that would it produce. So I guess it really does depend on context....
