I'm sorry that your mom feels that way about your choice of being an otaku. I know that there are people here on this site that will support you, including myself. I know we can't truly be there for you, but I for one am willing to try my best to help you feel better. We're already friends, so you can feel free to shoot me a message whenever(I forget to check my wall). I'd be happy to get to know you better ^_^

Pettankoprincess- Driving? Do you have a long drive everyday? Glad your feeling better today :) (in general to everybody) I'm glad that everyone is always ready to suggest TC to new members as another way to get to know everybody and have fun but I always feel sort of left out since I can't use it T-T

In our society we all don`t care what you do these days. Your mother thinks differently and thinks that anime is killing her daughter. It will take time for your mother to understand that you are an otaku and this is you. My mother was annoyed at first when she saw me getting into those things until she realize that a person will never change no matter who you are.

You'll always be able to find someone here if you need someone to be there for you :) Driving can be pretty scary at first, especially when the person teaching you keeps waiting until your about 20-30 feet from where your supposed to turn and only then tells you in a roundabout way, how and where to turn XD.

Don't get me started about driving...I was scared out of my mind, and I started my lessons (again) a lot later than most people. But...now I'm cool with it. Being where I'm from in Scotland where you have to travel gods-knows miles to get to the nearest petrol station (and 10 miles or so to get a phone signal!), you HAVE to drive, and I've actually learnt to enjoy it (the breath-taking scenery does help). I'm still nervous about going anywhere new, but you'll get used to it. Trust me ^^ Just take it slow, one step at a time. If you've got a patient instructor, he/she won't care how many lessons you have, they'll want you to be calm while driving. If you've got a REALLY good instructor, they will MAKE you do things you hate (mine was roundabouts-the worst (and then best) thing I ever did was tell him I hated them) so that you start getting used to those things. As I was told when I first started; 'Drive as if every one else is stupid'. I also got told by my instructor (because I was scared that other drivers hated me) 'Look in the rearview mirror. See his face? He's not angry, he was just born with that face - poor man.' It actually made me laugh. I hope it helps you too ^^
