so what got you into anime

Staying up really late on the weekends when I was really young. The first offical anime that I watched was FLCL, it was my favorite, and till this day, it is still my favorite. How I adapted into becoming an Otaku, is I found Anime Network on Demand a few months later after discovering Adult Swims late night anime, and that is when it took off.

the first anime i watch is Dragon Ball z and then DN angel, Suzuka, Negima!, D-Gray Man. Suzuka and Negima this two anime series is the one that i started to like watching Anime.... Still Continue watching Different Anime...

My elder sister's friend came over one day with some Ranma 1/2 VHS tapes. That was the first moment I realized what anime was, and quickly learned that other things I had watched were anime(Noozles, Superbook)It was not long after Toonami happened, as well as various Saturday Morning fare, and I quickly learned to distinguish between foreign and domestic cartoons. From there it was what I could find in places like Suncoast and Blockbuster. It almost didn't matter what it was, I tried to watch everything. But alas it was all piecemeal; a show here, a VHS there. It wasn't until years later when I found Youtube in college that I was able to watch as much as I wanted. It didn't last long before the obsession took hold once more and I started researching as much as I could in addition to watching as much as I could. Nowadays I still try to experience as much as I can but I also can share my love of anime since my discovery of conventions. (Don't laugh. There were no cons in South Carolina AT ALL until a few years ago) I suppose I consider myself more a fan of the industry itself more so than any particular show or creator.

When I first saw anime, when I was a kid, i didn't know what it was or where it came from. At that time, I was watching Dragonball, Sailor Moon, and Tenchi Muyo on lazer disc. It was when I met one of my best friends that i found out about what i was watching...He let me borrow a VHS called 'Variable Geo'. Since that day, i've been all about anime. We would hit up suncoast all the time during the ADV films era. Our click of friends were all into anime alzo so i was at the right place at the right time.

I think my defining moment for anime was finding toonami and seeing dragonball z for the first time. Although, technically I think pokemon is my first anime, but I didn't really know it was anime at the time.
