Short reply, so my apologies, busy between classes. Anyway, I apologize about the quick assumption then, and you're right, presentation is a lot when meeting new people, but eventually they're going to see that "other" side one tries to hide when meeting people. Sometimes that can be a bigger letdown than being yourself in the first place; at least the rejection won't come after that initial build up. In one sense you're absolutely right, being straight up honest with people is always the best way to go. on the other hand, he's also being straight up with people with, what might be, one of his biggest "flaws" in meeting people, allowing them to decide if it's worth it or not.
