The year is Cosmic Era 73. The Bloody Valentine War fought between the PLANTS space colonies and the nations of the Atlantic Federation has ended and an uneasy truce has settled upon the Earth sphere.

Universal Century 0123. After a generation of peace, the Earth Federation has begun to build new space colonies to house humanity's growing population.

In the year 2199, Earth has been reduced to a radioactive desert wasteland. Constant attacks by aliens belonging to the planet Gamilus have forced the remaining population underground, but then a friendly alien race from the planet Iscandar decides to help the humans by giving them blueprints for a powerful engine capable of faster than light travel.

In Zeta Gundam, we see the future world of the Universal Century through a dark mirror. Having defeated the Zeon menace, the Earth Federation has itself become cruel and oppressive.

When one space colony declared its independence from the Earth Federation, the devastating 7th Space War, an all-out war between Earth and space, resulted. The Federation responded to the Space Revolutionary Army with mobile suits, called Gundams.

The year is Future Century 60. To put an end to war, the Gundam Fight has been developed.

Thousands of years ago, mankind lost the majority of its technology and has only now begun to rebuild to an industrial civilization. The Moonrace decides it's time to return to Earth, and to fend off the invasion, the various nations arm themselves.

The confrontation between the Earth Alliance (Naturals) and Zaft (Coordinators) originated in economic trouble had reached an impasse. War couldn't be stopped by that point, and thus this story begins one year later when Heliopolis, a resource satellite belonging to a neutral nation, is suddenly attacked by a Zaft mobile suit force.

The human race lies in ashes. The survivors live like rats underground.

The adventures of the Argama and AEUG continue following Operation Maelstrom (see Zeta Gundam). A new crew is brought onboard to deal with the impending threat of Haman Karn's Neo Zeon, and teenager Judau Ashta is forced to grow up quickly when it becomes clear that his power will be a determining factor in the war.
