Pc building, anyone else out there?

wolfneko
@john yes I do have another pcie GPU cable I'll try switching @Rei and ive used this psu since 2016 and its been great for the first build it was in, even used the same gpu, the gpu, psu, .... Cooler master fans... Umm... Hdd, and ssd are all transferred from a previous build that ran great
johnmandracke
@wolfneko i mean, try using both cables at once but as you say it worked since a long time maybe the PSU or your graphics card could have be damaged by some mechanical issue (cold soldering spots at the connectors or bad connection in your PCIe port, if you have switched the graphics card, it might help if you clean the PCIe Connector with Pressured air on your mainboard und clean the PCIe header on your Graphics card with a rubber but your issue is not common since you say the power delivery cables where tigtly connectet and it still doesent run

I got it now, I guess the connections werent actually securely connected to the gpu, I took them out and plugged them back in and really pressed them in and I got video now, I think the one of the 2 pin splices werent securely connected... Phew... Sorry Rei, Sorry John >.< #feelingstupid xD
johnmandracke
No problem :) trail and error i guess? :D

Mhm, so now... I just gotta figure out why my ram isent lit, need to go to bios and do a hardware monitor And awesome! Temps are good at Idle 53C on cpu, 36C on gpu. -bump- any more pc builders?
kyros96
wouldn't call myself a builder even tho i did put my pc together from scratch and upgraded it over time, and everytime there was a problem i fixed it- and not only that but i used to fix laptops, phones and i even fixed a washing machine once. ~ and hell did i have a lot of problems, some of the most dumbest things u can have, but i guess by now i should be able to know whats wrong when something fails. sometimes i also solder microchips if i need to, the last laptop has a corrupted bios and i had to unsolder the chip and reprogram it- unfortunately i couldn't find a valid bios chace for it, cuz theres these bastards with fkin- repair websites n shit, and u have to pay them to download one goddamn file, so fk that, kinda a shame cuz its a decent laptop w a 2gb dedicated gpu. Edit: Oh yea. i forgot to mention the laptop is a fkin trashcer (acer) and their support sucks so bad even HP support is better. i literally told the support guy "thank you for your time, a 12 year old indian kid managed to help me more than you, have a nice day~" have i mentioned these fkin guys dont have the bios files that id need on their website ? they only have their dumb ass bios flash which u can only do if the bios is still functional. so i have to unpack tht fkin file and cut the bios out of the whole fkin package, and its basically all in HEX, and i think the corrupted bios file that i have has some additional lines of errors at the end, so i can't find the end of the bios in the hex addresses. so im stuck. shit like this makes me toxic. aaaand i've been having all kinds of problem w wintrash 10. but mostly cuz i like tweaking everything. im using wintrash 10 enterprise, which is basically a office/worker windows which doesn't have all the extra trash and bloatware like home and pro. but the problem is if i want something from the wintrash store, i have to add the app aand i did that and i need to figure out why dfk its crashing and what else it needs to fkin run x.x also i have another problem with wintrash's automatic brightness bullshit. man i havent managed to fix that, registry edits, different drivers bla bla bla. and everyone on the inet repeats the same sht, like the options r gonna magically appear... this life sux sometimes. - the things i had to fix ugh~

I've built two, mine and my dads. Mine has a 6700k, 16gb of ram, a MSI 1070, 500gb SSD and 4tb of storage (a 1tb for long term, and two 3tb's in Raid 1). My dad's has a 9700k, a 1050ti, 16gb of ram, and a 500gb m.2 SSD. I'm thinking of upgrading, but haven't had the reason to pull the trigger yet.
wolfneko
True I have a I7-6700K and to be honest for what it is spec'd it is a very solid cpu and a 1070 is not bad either, how many channels is your ram? dual or quad? Im assuming your not running single channel 16GB, but atm your correct, you have a solid setup which can be better but at the same time no reason to upgrade cause ur setup is solid enough as it is
granturismot
Dual channel. And yeah, it's still absolutely solid and I see no reason to upgrade anything but the GPU unless the entire thing just spontaneously combusts or something.
