Most American Gamers: YM2612, you are the earliest Yamaha FM soundchip that radicalized game music forever! Me and other Obscure Research Gamers (especially ones in Japan): Say high to YM2203, YM2413, YM3526, Y8950, YM3812, YM2608 and the very prominent YM2151. And the MD/GEN isn't alone using YM2612. The Fujitsu FM TOWNS and its Marty counterpart also use that, as well as the YM3438 used with the Ricoh RF5C68 that were both also used in several Sega arcades at the same time. @kingaj You're welcome. Vic Tokai developed them. Sega had good relations with them enough to let them create the Sonic-esque Time Dominator 1st (known outside of Japan as Socket which sounds similar to Sonic), then even mention them with Battle Mania girls in Segagaga for Dreamcast.
