It's pretty good. The first monster hunter I tried to get into was on the 3DS and I didn't care for the tight controls and lack of introduction in the game. This one they hold your hand just for a bit to get you to know whats what and then you're off on your own (or with friends) killing monsters 5x your size.

welp, I ended up getting it on ps4 too. I've been playing MH since the first one on ps2 pretty much and I actually find this to be pretty refreshing, it's definitely been streamlined to help casual players get into the game a lot easier which I think would be great for the series in general in the long run since the past games kinda just...dropped you in. The game didn't really tell you much about the combat or anything aside from what each button does, especially in the early games. Which makes it pretty understandable how all of the people I tried to get into the series in the past kinda ultimately ended up getting frustrated early on because the barrier of entry was a bit high. Though all around I'm pretty happy seeing all of the positive buzz about the game too, finally feels like it's MH's time to shine. :u
