What game are you currently playing?

parttimewarrior
I've been playing a lot of FFXIV and Monster Hunter Rise. I do also play VRchat as well.

Been playing Blasphemous for a bit. The game is nothing short of an artistic masterpiece. The style and story are something of 14th/15th century Spanish Catholicism with grand spires and pre-enlightement architecture. The story is in line with the theological ideas of that era with the elements of atonement and guilt. Gameplay is something like a Metroidvania and a Souls style game thrown in a blender. Rosary beads improving certain stats, cores to the sword which add advantages but also have a disadvantage as a counter, prayers as magic and a very hefty amount of collectibles that play directly into the story. The enemies are horrifying in that they were once human twisted by "The Miracle" into something that sometimes does not resemble human. https://youtu.be/T3SxYMu5qGY

I am currently waiting for my soldiers to acquire a copy of "Cory in the House" for the DS. While I await this operation, I shall do more investigations into these "video games."

@hell_hound7 I feel your pain, since I had played it back when it first came out on PS5. I did end up finishing the game tho, so I suppose that makes me qualified to reply to your rhetorical questions... -I'm gonna assume you understand the premise of swapping out guns when you stumble upon something that's higher level, but the weapons that spawn are based your weapon proficiency level, which is the bar in the bottom left. Kills increase the bar, and whatever level it is, that's the minimum level of weapons from chests. So it's smarter to leave some weapon chests until you increase your proficiency level, then go back and open the weapon chest for better guns. -Higher level weapons don't mean it's better. Always weigh the level vs alt fire abilities. -The green health chunks... there's 2 types. One restores health, like normal. The other type restores nothing, but collecting enough (I think 3) extends your overall health bar. -Orange shards are Obolites, which basically are money to purchase upgrades and sub weapons at Fabricators. They're scattered in each level, but there's also safe rooms with multiple Fabricators. I'm sure you've seen them. You lose all your obolites when you die.

-The purple things are Ether, unlike obolites you keep your ether when you die. They're mainly used to clear infected items and chests. You know how you check stuff and you get a message saying what level the infection is? You can risk it and take the loot/chest, but get whacked with a permanent debuff that only can be removed by doing ridiculous feats, which it will tell you what you have to do. Or you can use your Ether to clear the infection and safely take the loot/chests. -If you're talking about those big eyes that shoot lasers, they're just obstacles. You can't kill them and they do nothing other than be a pain in the ass. -The house is part of the story, which legit is fucking incredible. Everything is intentionally vague early on, so don't worry about being confused by story segments. Also, I don't remember the exact spot, but somewhere outside the house is an astronaut doll. It revives you when you die, so obviously it's something you want. -Bosses are hard at first, but to sound cliche, you just gotta learn their patterns. They all have specific patterns of attacks. -In combat, keep in mind you're invulnerable during your dash. I'm sure you know this. But a mistake a lot of people make, including myself when I was learning the game, is to always dash to the sides, since that's what you'd do in most games. A vital tactic in Returnal when you see wide waves of... balls... is to dash FORWARD, not to the side. You wanna dash THROUGH the swarm. Ok holy shit that was a lot, but I absolutely loved Returnal. Easily one of the best games I've played in years on any platform.

Finished Frued's Bones. I started Little Misfortune, though I don't classify this as a game. More like an interactive story. Very cute and dark. The voice actress was the main selling point. Such a cute accent. I also started Strange Horticulture, a mystery puzzle game about running a plant shop. Both are suuuuuper relaxing to play. I'm getting really addicted to cozy games.
