back on ffxiv doing dumb (fun) stuff with my only two friends in the game... Also revisiting nier automata after completing nier replicant.

Im playing nier replicant, man is this game tedious. I know i have the game on hard difficulty but enemies one shot, i spend like an hour chipping away at a boss' health like literally i spend an hour just chipping cuz i dont do any sort of damage. It makes it all the more frustrating when you die and have to start over. I couldnt beat one dude and said fuck it imma do side quests and grind exp. 90 or so minutes of playing im only level 11 fought like 5 bosses and didnt even get to play as this game's waifu yet.

^Having put 60+ hours into Replicant, I can assure you it's not worth playing on a hard difficulty which will only cause the game to drag out even longer. On normal difficulty it gets old, fast. The sidequests are absolutely tedius af, and the endless backtracking made me groan endlessly (one playthrough will have you replay a map 5+ times, then factor you have to replay the game 4 times to get the true ending). And the game's idea of "fast travel" does practically nothing to alleviate how much you have to run around to every location a million times. Also, if the idea of playing as Kaine is the light at the end of the monotonous tunnel... lower your hopes cuz you don't get to control her. She just tags along as a partner that you don't get to use. Except for... SPOILER.................................................. you get to use her AFTER you beat the game 4 times. The amazing story is the only reason I made it through 2 1/2 playthroughs before dropping it during my 3rd run due to the agonizing repetitiveness.

Finally got some time to put some hours into Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Graphically it's probably the best looking game overall I've played on any system or PC. The haptic feedback on the controller far exceeds anything I was expecting it to be. But the game itself is kind of a let down. Still fun af, but it just feels ordinary. There's already been a couple times I quit playing simply cuz I wasn't interested in playing it.

Yeah who would be so crazy to 100% beat Nier Replicant and enjoy that bizarre and tedious structure. That is just crazy talk. https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/471/227/dd0.png

Im only playing to platinum the game beyond that i dont really care about the story. I have it on hard difficulty just incase there is a trophy that requires hard difficulty. If i have to play it 3 more times then i will run it on easy. But most likely i wont wanna play this 3 more times. I just fought that lizard boss in the village. It honestly takes skill and cheese to kill these bosses on hard. I found myself having to run dark lance get him within a sliver of health just to hit him with dark lance in a specific way so that when he drops for the little finisher thing i can do as much damage before it resets. Had to do this 3-4 times. If i die i start all over.

As someone who plat the game, I can say for certain there is no trophy for hard mode. This game is a time sink, especially for the trophies. So yeah easy is the way to go for all the trophies.

Why do you want to do a plat so badly and also why not pick an easier game to get a plat on?
hell_hound7
I wanna plat it because 1. It gives me something to do 2. Its a masisve flex and 3. Because then i know im playing the game to its fullest As for why i dont pick an easier game. I do pick easy games to plat, but i also wanna have fun and enjoy it. Its very hard to do both. For example yakuza like a dragon very fun to play, very hard to plat.
animekid
That makes sense then. There are really easy games that you can get a platinum in like undertale but most of those probably aren't the type of games you would normally care to play nor would they really be that much of a Flex for a platinum.
