Do looks really matter?

kichigai913
Cac - I disagree. Online you see either real or fake pics of the person. Regardless, you choose accordingly. It's just so blatantly a lie you disregard it and try to make assumptions on the personality by the choice of pictures while talking to them. Unless you're a troll cause then none of that matters because you're not looking for anything physical.

I mean speak for yourself but I give everyone a chance regardless of their picture. I always focus more on what they say and how they say it to figure them out. I might just be an odd bean tho, Just cause I do that doesn't mean everyone does.

Sadly seems that looks are still important to some people. As for me, not really. I rather have someone who treats me good, loves me and is faithful and looks like a potato, than a good looking person who treats me like shit.

Looks are important!!! It took me a long time to learn, but looking nice is a signal to other people that you take the time to care for yourself and you care about your life. Just simple things like combing your hair, getting haircuts, shaving, wearing nice clothes, washing your face, maybe doing a set of push-ups every other night and doing other stuff you can control can really change how you carry yourself and how other people look at you. Maybe you look like a potato, but if you are a well-groomed potato I think you'll look pretty good!

The 7% rule is the idea that Verbal Communication is only 7% of how we communicate, the rest being non-verbal.

When I wear clothes with only colors, people don't notice. It may cause loneliness, but also prevent unwanted people. When I wear clothes or accessories with otaku-related characters on them, or cosplay as a character, some attention grows causing others to say things like, "I like your wallet/shirt/etc." or "Do you like ____?" Sometimes it's surprisingly good, sometimes a bit embarrassing.

First impressions matter, and in the days before online forums that mostly meant physical appearance as well as behavior.
