It's totally fine if I don't think much about it.

^there is no loneliness anymore and you get more meaning in life, but you get less and less time for yourself and you will always have to think about both people rather than usually thinking about only yourself... Other than that everything else is pretty much same.

Bit of a mixed bag. It's nice having time for yourself and being able to focus on the things you love. However, as a college student who is in a friend group where a lot of us have started hooking up, it can be a bit lonely. Especially when some of your friends start saying "you're such a great person, why are you single?". Really eats at me occasionally and can easily turn into the whole "what's wrong with me?" mindset if I'm not careful.

^^^^ THIS. I get this. I'm actually enjoying some of the alone time I'm having. I don't really have to worry about both of us, or put in extra effort. I don't have to think too much about when to spend time on something, or making time for the other. I do occasionally, particularly when my friends say about how wonderful or great it is to have children or be married or even be with their boyfriend or girlfriend, I worry about how my side of it will go. I kinda feel a little bit sad sometimes, that I could've made more of an effort, but welp.

Part of it is simply the fact that society puts a lot of spotlight on the beauty of relationships and college is basically relationship city. Not everyone hooks up of course or even stay together but I think most people finish their time there with at least some experience with dating(and other intimate events) in general. Like yeah, you can find a romantic interest outside of school but it's arguably easier while in school because you're basically forced to interact with all sorts of people from so many different walks of life. Plus I don't have the most amazing self-esteem on the planet so I try to make friends first and foremost then see where things go from there rather than state my interest on a first meeting. Hasn't really worked out yet because I tend to end up far too close to people to the point where they see me like a bro. Which is fine but a bit of a double-edged sword. But hey I'm still in my early twenties so I have plenty of time to find someone who would like me for me. It's not the end of the world even if I get a bit lonely some days.
