I've tried a few (Geek2Geek, OKCupid, and Plentyoffish which for some reason I still have an account on despite having different intentions than what others use it more for) but they all tend to have this sort of feeling of disconnect. Like, you talk to someone, maybe they'll talk back and you'll chat for a good while, but then for one reason or another you just kind of stop talking and become complete strangers again. It's a bit depressing for my tastes, but then again I suppose that's why the concept of online dating (or at least dating sites) never really appealed to me as a person. You just don't get to know the person as a friend first and really connect with them before deciding if you have feelings for them and the other way around happens to also be the case. I like it here though from what I've seen thus far. There's sort of this sense of "community" and "connection" that's kind of like a social media site but also sort of a dating site and it's a good mix if you ask me. I don't know if I'm making any sense or I'm just rambling again, but among all the other sites I've used I think I like this one best. It has a small community but that just means less creeps/loud/crappy people around to worry about. (Or at least that's what I've noticed; I'm still fairly new here so I could be completely wrong and there could be more than I thought. >,..,<;)

@John Felix I suppose that's the advantage of MaiOtaku being a small community, most dating sites are quite large which sort of limits your freedom.

Hmm, interesting.

I've tried OKCupid. They've changed the messaging system now (thank yooooou) but I wanted to see how it was on a geekier/nerdier website.

I've tried OkCupid and Plenty of Fish - my best friend having crap tons of luck with the latter, I'm currently not actively looking to date but if someone manages to capture my heart on any of these sites then I wouldn't be against it!
