@verucassault when you get insomnia do you ever hallucinationate and see things like the. "sleep paralysis demons/shadows" or not really? I know some people do anyways.

@sobo275 Nothing visual but I have had auditory things go on, not sure if you could consider them hallucinations though. I have had 2 "mare" episodes where I experienced sleep/dream paralysis. The first time, I was like 15 or 16, had stayed after school late to work out for track and field and when I got home, I laid down, ceiling fan blasting. I ended up falling asleep and had a dream that my mother and I were in our truck and it died on train tracks. We started to hear a train coming in the distance and my mother couldn't get the engine to start so she unbuckled and I went to as well but my belt would unclasp, I looked up and the train was getting near, too close and I recall forcing myself to wake up but I couldn't move. I could see the ceiling fan whirling over me but I could still hear the train blasting from my dream. I shut my eyes again and it's just upon us and I beg my mom to leave and then I jolted upright before it hit. It wasn't a modern train, it was like one of the big, black antique engines with the huge angular grill that you only see at museums now. The second instance, I was in college, sleeping at a friend's house they had rented. I didn't like that house. It had a feel to it. I was never alone in it thankfully, but they had a roommate that was living with them and she was out that night and said it was okay to crash in her room. So I slept in there, didn't really have problems falling asleep but did wake up with this weird sensation happening, like the space around me was vibrating and it was also happening in my ears. It could be explained as maybe jumping nerves but the fact that I never really felt comfortable in that house makes me think otherwise. I have had the pulsating air thing happen at a different point, but it wasn't sleep paralysis that time. I had carpel tunnel surgery and one evening after passing out on my living room sofa, I woke up to the ear pulsating thing again, but this time I could feel it in the air. My dog Tyson was also upset at something because he was in the floor growling and staring at the doorway to the kitchen that was right beside me. I came to and picked him up and went outside. I hung out there for 15-20 minutes then went back in with him to make sure Wren (my cat) was okay. Was it because of my meds? Was it more nerves jumping? Tyson seemed interested in something I couldn't see. And I did experience more than that at that house I rented, just nothing to do with sleep in that regard.

Would rather that than anxiety over things I can not currently change. The human mind is a fantastic thing and conveniently waits until you should be sound asleep to just say "Fuck it, sleep only helps with everything. Now is the time to internally panic about things you can't immediately change. Let's scroll reddit to avoid crisis mode, shall we?".

Honestly only happens when I take a nap and if that only lasts for a couple extra hours
