I'm in hiding. If I get it, I have a high chance of being killed by it. I have a fairly weak immune system, with known lung and heart issues. So, for my case, I am fairly terrified of it. Not to the point of end of world panic, but enough that I know my own life is at risk. For a global case it is way worse than we have admitted. No government is going to openly admit to the public that they should panic or numbers that will make them panic. Florida is a great example. In 2018 there were 0 deaths attributed to unidentifiable causes, 2019 had 150. So far 2020 has almost 2500. Florida is fairly unique in that almost all numbers are public record and can be seen. On the other hand, since that means the infection rate is probably way higher than we admit, it means the death rate might be way lower than we know. So at least that's something

2 weeks ago when I was shookith I was displaying my concerns for China and the wet markets. 3 weeks later, now, it is funny to me, yes. It's the way I cope with our inadequacies as a species. In my meeting this morning, someone brought up that New York is plateauing and already the news headlines are "NYC IS RECOVERING, LIFT THE RESTRICTIONS!!"... Idiots are going to get us all killed. Extroverted idiots.

On the other hand, a couple days ago my family and I came to terms that we prrrrrrrrrrrobably already had Corona. My cousin traveled to Paris before Christmas, the week of Christmas her boyfriend (went to Paris with her) fainted and stopped breathing at jujitsu. She had to call around all the hospitals in the city they live to find him. They never could figure out what was wrong with him, only that he had a high fever and was fighting some kind of infection. The day we were flying out my aunt fainted and got sick getting home and I started to feel sick the same day. Both interacted several days before with the boyfriend that was hospitalized. All we did was shake his hand. Crazy contagious.

I had a really bad flu around feb from the guys in the office that were hacking up a lung right behind me.. surley enough a week later i had it. Even after i got over it, i had a persisting cough for about a week or so. Ive seen a handful of people saying they've had similar experiences and this has lead to those conspiracies that corona has been here since November lol.

An exponential function is more or less the best fit curve for describing the spread of the virus. It's difficult to see a decrease of an exponential function on a linear graph. An exponential function looks linear on a logarithmic graph, therefore a so called flattening of the curve actually looks like a linear vertical drop on a log graph. It is much easier to see when graphed on a log vs a linear graph. I personally haven't seen the media or many others for that matter even mention a log graph. But then again math isn't really the medias thing.
