@Teacup :p oh come on you're not stress inducing. You'd have to try harder than that lol. In hindsight, i'd say it was 45% patches, 25% encouragement, and 30% replacing the oral fixation that helped me pull through. Had any one of those fallen short i'd be smoking like a chimney. It's still one of the hardest things I've ever had to do military aside.

It's not hard to quit, people just pretend it is because they enjoy smoking

I did the gum for like a week, didn't like it much so got a vape then lost that while on a night out and just stopped it all pretty easily

Good on you for quitting!! Honestly. However, nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs out there. That's the only reason I asked. See, I've quit a few times, a month or more, a year or more and about seven years. Now, it wasn't hard to quit, but there most certainly was a pull to go back aka an addiction. To throw it out there as "pretending" when people say it's hard to quit, that's kind of foolish. It wasn't hard for you, but you are not everyone. The hard part IS getting past the addiction, whether that's the social aspect for some, oral fixation for others or the triggers such as stress. Can one quit day one? Sure. Is it likely to be that easy? Ehhhh... Not really. Cigarettes wouldn't sell that well if they were so easy to just stop and never look back.

Quitting is easy. Staying in the mindset isn't. It takes a while but you get there. Took me about 3 months to fully stop
