What do you do when feeling down?

infernalmonsoon
For me, spending time messing around with friends and indulging in hobbies! I recently broke up which is naff so games have been a huge comfort for me lately and that's my usual go to hobby! :D

Half of the time I vent to people. The other half of the time I let it consume me until it's done.

Depending on what kinda emotion I'm stuck in. I could be hurling insults at the great void of nothing, venting to random bystanders, slinking away to a dark corner to play video games and recharge, or head straight to a warm bath where I can take a step outside of myself and analyze the situation while I relax and destress.

Depends on precisely why I'm down, really. If it's a case of my normal hobbies not really feeling interesting, that's usually when I hit up Netflix or On Demand stuff and just look for something I wouldn't normally watch. But if the weather is good, I may just go walk my dogs, too. If it's one of those times where it feels like the world doesn't care I exist, taking a nap or just trying to go to bed for the night is usually the best fix. Otherwise, it's just a sad cycle of poking my head in at various haunts/chats and not finding anyone to socialize with, or worse, feel ignored as I watch others chat. If it's just seeing things going on around the world/net that piss me off, but I'm otherwise powerless to do anything about, I'll probably just vent somewhere and hope something else pops up to distract me by the time I'm finished. Of the three, loneliness is really the worst. Especially if I'm not tired enough to try and sleep it off.

When I'm depressed I mope around I lot. I rarely like to move or do anything and instead opt to just laze around or do repetitive stuff. The best way for me to get out of those depression loops is to get feedback from others, so I'll try to do something that people will take notice of or that I'll commend myself for. Baking and making art are my main crutches and have always offered me a chance to reflect or get compliments from other peeps. If you're ever down in the dumps I highly recommend it. ^^ Have some brownies by the way ♥ https://i.imgur.com/mZXpwgg.jpg

Jog at the local park. Nice lake, fresh air, and beautiful scenery does some good.
