Well, religion is just a fancy word. Just like other religions are, atheism is also a way of life. Religion does not have the requirement of having a god, it can be anything

I don't really get the whole atheism is a religion. There's no specific rituals, traditions or culture tied to being atheist other than a singular disbelief in a higher power(s). I suppose it can resemble in a very superficial way with regards to conviction (strong belief there is/is not the supernatural, etc.) or that there are some atheists organizations or that some atheists are very public with their views, but that's kind of like saying being a fan of a sports team is a religion or that like being a round-earther or anti-vaxxer is a religion.

Thats how I think about it, if I don't follow baseball, it doesn't mean I'm a fan of a non team, I'm just not a fan. You can't call me a baseball fan.
