"Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread." - H.P. When I found out it wasn't, I just assumed it was some cat writing with Lovecraft and Vonnegut and the like, the sci-fi/sci-fi horror grandfathers of the 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. However, HP Lovecraft was born in 1890 and the King in Yellow was written in 1895. "Lovecraft talks about The King In Yellow in his essay "Supernatural Horror in Literature" and it's clearly an influence, particularly in the "forbidden books" aspect of Lovecraft's writing."

@manga_bird And yes, too, about Hermie. The Seekers and Lurkers in Apocrypha, and even Miraak's mask are very Cthulhu inspired. Tentacles, tentacles everywhere...
