Thinking about it, I guess I am a partial furry as well. I like the ideas of the characters and how they can be utilized in situations that humans would not fit (Zootopia did some neat things with that). And I would be lying if I said I don't find some characters attractive (Makoto Nanaya is S-Tier waifu material). No intention of ever donning a suit or attending a con though (have not even made it to an anime con yet). As for cat girls not counting as furries, I feel that is something that was started and propagated by people who don't want to admit to being furries, even in the slightest. Everything exists on a spectrum, rather than being pure black and white.

I can understand your idea on that and I thought they were counted as furries as well for a while but then when you look into it online there are some pretty detailed explanations by furries themselves as to why they aren't really considered furries, they are closed but even within the furry community they are usually not considered to be a furry. One way it's been described is that furries are animals with human characteristics but neko's are humans with cat characteristics, the difference being which side of the spectrum most of the biological appearances lean towards.

Personally I'm more turned on by scenarios than what the character actually looks like. As long as I can engage with the narative or able to make my own then I'm good.
