Being asian I'm required by law to play about 6 hours of table tennis a week. Not very good though.

I mean... Does taking your dogs for walks count? I do that a lot - but I'm thinking of going back to the gym really soon as well as picking up boxing again after over a decade since that was fun.

I used to spar with some friends in mixed martial arts which was a fun and rewarding experience learning the fundamentals of different styles. I liked taekwando, muay thai, boxing, and shotokan karate though I wanted to experiment with other forms but haven't gotten around to it. I felt some of the limitations of certain martial arts when strictly following their respective disciplines and under certain conditions I felt it necessary to dabble into more grappling oriented styles- mostly due to the fact my sparring partner loved grapples which rendered most strikes risky especially against someone who's familiar with your technique and experienced in handling/countering aggression and offensive play. When it comes to boxing, I am defensive and prefer the counter punch approach however in my aggressive play I tend to step-in the moment the opponent wants to connect with a punch to throw them off guard- basically instead of dodging or backing away when they throw a swing, I duck and push onward to try to throw them off balance. I feel like interrupting someone during a move is my best chance to throw someone off guard- never was a fan of poking unnecessarily since in terms of stamina is not my strong suit- it takes less effort to throw someone off balance using their own force against them. However if I solely rely on one style of boxing, it makes me predictable if I'm constantly on one side of aggression or defensive play. Taekwando, although I like performing the various kicks it does feel very risky throwing out kicks needlessly and I admit I'm not disciplined enough to avoid switching styles mid spar and revert to muay thai and rely on elbows and knees in close quarters. I am not good at handling ground play, once I'm thrown to the ground @~@ my personal space is invaded, and I would end up losing the match. Mastering the footwork at least for me, felt rewarding since I felt grounded while at the same time nimble on my feet when it came to following up my attacks and movement whether it be in boxing or taekwando when I'm on the offensive. I would like to learn kendo one day, though ever since moving from my hometown its been kind of hard finding a new place/school to train. My old bedroom had a punching bag which I had to leave behind- though I'll prob get around to getting a new one hopefully.

Got a gym membership earlier this month and still haven't used it. Hopefully I'll get some workout clothes for easter.
