Pt.5– Namara looks at the light in thought and nods her head in understanding at the words spoken to her. The light watches as the young girl looks at herself in the reflection for a few minutes and nods I determination, seeing the princess come to an understanding in her own mind. “I am ready. I don’t know if I’ll always be the bravest... but I will definitely do my best to try.” The light nods her head at the girl and gathers the flowers all around them, Namara watching in fascination as the flowers begin to take the form of humans. The people who came before her with the same gifts. And the light that’s been with Namara the whole time begins to glow, “The light that is in I, Luminosa is the light I have given to princess Namara’s ancestors before her. The light wich has guided them shall now guide you on the right path, it is what you choose to do with the light given to you that changes the hand of time and of fate itself. Will you stand to the challenge of life and use your light as one to spread hope for others where they find none? Or will you use it as one of darkness to snatch hope from the ones looking for it?” Namara feels a sudden peace come to her, closing her eyes and feeling a surge of energy within her body the young girl hears as the predecessors voices fill her mind. As the voices fill her mind all Namara sees is flashes of images, dreams she’s had before and quick flashes of things to come. It all feels so overwhelming with the images, the power she feels from Luminosa and her predecessors, all she can do is close her eyes tighter as her mind feels like it could explode with the rapidly flashing images. Namara doesn’t know how much time passed or if time even passes in a place like this, but what she does know is that she has gasped awake and sees the wall of crystals surrounding her now. Looking into the crystals Namara sees a light within her body and how her eyes now look like a crystal blue color, and as she is looking at herself the young girl hears Luminosa’s voice. “Princess Namara, you now have the strength needed to go on your journey. See to it you don’t stray too far from what needs to be done—“, groaning at the sudden pain in her skull Namara squeezes her eyes shut again and passes out. Gasping awake in the flowing water of her secret garden, Namara wonders if everything that happened was just a dream until she looks over to where her crystal tree once was only to see it gone. Sighing at everything that has happened to her in just a day the young princess gets out of the water and jumps at hearing her name being yelled across the palace from who she assumes are her maids. Namara looks down at her drenched clothes and puts on a confident face as she makes her way quietly out of her garden and into the sight of an older maid and tutor she is closer too, “Oh, Princess! You had everyone worried that you ran away—“ the maid stops at seeing how soaked the Princess is and yells for other maids to get the towels and prepare new clothes—“and why are you so soaked!? The king and queen are worried about your whereabouts and you spend time playing in water?” Namara pushes past the maid in a rush, she wishes she could spend the rest of her evening—evening!? The princess realizes how dark it is now that she’s not worrying about getting to her parents, the young girl looks to her maid and sighs. “Look, Malora... I would love to sit and listen to your lectures for the rest of the night, but where are my parents?” Malora looks at her princess in shock since she has never really spoken to her that way, opening her mouth and about to scold the princess for her “unladylike” behavior the woman is interrupted by the sound of a deeper, calmer voice. “There you are Princess Namara. Your mother was worried sick about you.” Namara and Malora look at the newcomer, one in surprise and another in relief. Malora smiles in triumph at having another mature and sensible maid in the room, and not just any maid but the Queen’s own trusted one at that. “Oh, thank heavens you appeared! Davana, please tell the princess to come with me and clean herself up imme—“ Davana interrupts Malora with a raise of her hand—“Malora, silence. The princess will come with me and you will go back to attended to whatever else needs attending.” Malora flushes a red at being interrupted by the other maid, “But the princess—“, Davana gives a sharp look to Malora as she grabs the princess’s hand and leads her away—“Will be coming with me. Her parents have been worried sick and you think a bath would be better for her at this moment? She is obviously in distress herself and wants to see her father and mother, you would think with how long you’ve been around the princess you could pick up on in it. I will not be questioned or talked back to again, do I make myself clear Malora?” Namara watches joyfully at how the normally nagging maid is silenced and embarrassed, seeing her only give a deep bow and walk away quickly. Turning to look at her mother’s maid Namara let’s herself be led by the woman, “Thank you Davana! My parents?” Davana sends a calm smile to the princess, “Your parents are fine and will be relieved at finally seeing you. I told them I’d find you... only after you revealed yourself you know? You are very good at hiding Princess, even when you were younger you’d worry your parents since they thought you were stolen away.” Namara smiles up at the older woman and is interrupted from saying anything more when she hears the shout of her relieved parents. “Namara! Oh, thank you Davana for finding her!” Davana bows in respect to the king and queen and knows this is her cue to leave the royal family to their little reunion. Queen Sabana hugs her daughter tightly as the king gently sets his hand on his daughter’s head, “Namara... why are you so wet? Did you go to the river?” Namara looks up at her father and shakes her head, stepping out from her mother’s warm embrace to stand straight and look at them in the eyes seriously. “Father, mother we need to speak now.” The king raises his brow in confusion but stays quiet at the look on his wife’s face and how she seems to understand whatever is happening. The king helps Sabana stand up and leads their daughter back to the throne room, nodding at the guards when when they enter. The king and queen watch as their daughter gathers the courage to say whatever it is that she needs to say, “F-Father, mother... I am sorry for worrying you, but I hid away in my garden.” The king nods his head in understanding, “You could have let someone know where you went Namara. Me and your mother would have understood.” The princess shakes her head, “No, you wouldn’t have understood father. It was my secret garden... I went there today to relax and instead I was approached by a bright light. I learned many new things about myself and the ones who came before me, some were specifically picked for me so I can hopefully do well on my journey... and I want to let you both know I forgive you and I am ready!” Namara finishes her little speech with a shout and a look of confidence, face starting to turn pink at the silence of her parents.

Pt.6– The king looks over at Sabana and gives his Queen a cordial look. “It seems that you were right my queen. She is ready to live the life that is ahead of her... and I suppose we worried for no reason.” Sabana gives a relieved smile to her husband and nods in agreement, “I was only afraid that maybe my vision was wrong this time. It didn’t show me how long our daughter was gone for... I just knew she hid away in a garden somewhere.” The Queen hugs her daughter and feels the young girl relax at hearing her mother’s heartbeat, “Oh, my dear Namara. You are only twelve and so brave in ways me and your father never knew when we ourselves were younger—“ the Queen gently moves her daughter from her bosom and tucks a strand of damp hair behind her ear—“ now, what things have you learned of in your garden? I had a special place like that when I was once young also.” Namara relaxes at the gentle touch of her mother and the warm look of her father, her heart beating faster once again at having to tell them the truths Luminosa has spread. Taking a deep breath Namara looks nervously into her mother’s eyes. “I-I. I need you to give me away when the time comes...” trailing off and leaving an awkward silence behind her rushed words, Namara watches her mother frown deeply and startles at her father’s deep laugh. “My daughter... did you hurt your head when swimming? You are asking me and your mother to give you away?” Namara bites her lip feeling ridiculous at the king’s laughter, doubting herself and if what she thought happened even did happen. The young princess is brought out of her doubtful thoughts at her mother’s shaky voice. “My king! D-Do not laugh at what she says... do you not remember of the dream I had when she was only eight?” The king stops his laughter and looks at his wife with a pinched brow and worried eyes, “You don’t mean?” Trailing off into a tense silence the king watches his wife nod her head in agreement with what he wanted to say, sucking in a deep breath at what this means he steps forwards to put a strong, protective hand on his daughter’s shoulder. “We can hide her away my queen.” The queen let’s go of her daughter and quickly stands up, hands clenching her robes with worry. “No, no, no. Would that work? Where would we even pu—“ Namara grabs onto her frantic mother’s robes and tugs them softly—“ Mother, father. Please calm down... please listen to what I have to say. I-If you had a dream about me being taken away or that somehow connects to my vision... I am sure it’s safe to say that there’s no other way for things to play out. I was approached by a light named Luminosa who gave me the strength I needed to do what needs to be done... I know you understand what that is.” Namara watches as her mother stops pacing and her father’s hand unclenches from her shoulder, it’s hard for her to watch her usually strong parents crumbling before her eyes. The Queen gets on her knees and hugs onto her daughter tightly, eyes watering at the thought of choosing to give her daughter away. “Luminosa you say? I... have heard of that name before many years ago. W-What is it that you saw? What have you found out?” Namara feels like a weight has made its way to her chest, like someone dropped a boulder upon her heart... it’s as if she feels her parents sadness, “I-I saw you and father giving me away to what looked to be someone from another kingdom. He was well dressed, but I am not sure if he is of royalty or someone that works in the palace and came to retrieve me for his king or queen—“ Namara’s hands tighten on her mother’s robes—“I was told that nothing would happen that I first didn’t agree to first. I tried to deny it because I was angry and scared... b-but I know I would do anything for my family and kingdom.” Namara pulls away from her mother and her eyes widen at seeing the steady stream of tears flowing down her mother’s gorgeous face. Namara’s lip wobbles at seeing her mother crying for her, she doesn’t know what comes over her but she knows that whatever happens in the future she might not even see her parents ever again. She pours her thoughts out to her parents, hands tightening on her mother’s robes again as she spouts every feeling she’s felt earlier and now, “M-Mother, I am afraid! I-I love you and father and m-my kingdom, but the t-thought of never being able to come back to a place I c-call home is frightening to me! B-But what scares me even m-more is me leaving y-you both without letting you know I t-truly love you and forgive you!” Namara jumps into her mother’s arms once again, sobbing loudly and shaking harder when she hears her mother sniffle Sabana grips onto her daughter tightly, she never wants to let go of her little treasure but she knows that’s not a choice now. The queen puts a gentle hand on her daughter’s head and almost goes to hush her as a reaction, was about to tell her to not cry... but as she is holding her baby in her arms once again the queen is beginning to think that maybe she can be brave like her daughter and admit her fears for once too. “I-I am terrified too. I try and be brave, I have to be after all... I am your mother. B-But the thought of you being taken and not knowing where you a-are or where you’ll be is a-a torturing thought. I love you so much my beloved Namara, y-you have a heart me and your father wish we had when younger. I-I am sorry for the things I’ve said out of my own worry and thank y-you for being my daughter.” Sabana buries her face in her daughter’s hair as she cries along with her daughter. Sabana and Namara tighten their arms onto each other, both pulling away when they hear the sound of something thumping behind them. Sabana looks and sees her husband on his knees reaching out for Namara, she takes that as her cue to pass her daughter over, she watches as he is holding himself together... still trying to be the ever so composed king in this situation. “Namara... your mother is right every time she calls you her treasure, you know? You aren’t just her treasure—“ the king pauses to compose himself before his next words—“but you are my treasure also. I remember when I first saw you when you were just a babe... I knew you’d be destined for greatness. I knew you’d have an adventurous life ahead of you.” The king pulls his still crying daughter into his arms and holds onto her, “I just wish the life filled with adventure wasn’t one that had to be so horrible and confusing most times. I am not saying that to worry you but you know your life won’t be easy all the time... I-I did my best to make sure you had a great life, but I-I—“ Sabana watches on as her king clenches his fists behind his daughter’s back, still trying to stay composed despite the pain she knows is in his heart Sabana wipes her tears and moved over so she’s beside her husband, putting her hand upon his back and leaning her head on his shoulder so her lips are near his ear. “You did not fail her. I believe we have made mistakes as all parents do... but you have not failed her because of a life we cannot control. No one comes into this life in control... a lot of people think they have it down but we don’t, we aren’t in control of most misfortunes in life and as much as it must hurt... some bad things have to happen just because it must. We don’t know why or how but it does— Sabana moves over so she’s in front of her king and able to look into his eyes—“my love, Namak. P-Please don’t hold back now... you are her father and you adore her. You hurt the most for the ones you love the most.” Sabana watches her husband’s eyebrows furrow, his lips frown and his eyes water as he lets out a cry for his daughter.

Pt.7– The king’s cries echo throughout the throne room, his arms keeping his treasure close. No longer is he king Namak, having his title dictate how he carries himself and how he shows his emotions... but the man holding onto his daughter is just her father. A man that is in despair about what his daughter will have to go through in her life, and if he could stop time he would... sometimes he wishes he could be a little more selfish and keep their daughter hidden away from the cruelty of life. But he knows that people will need someone like Namara in their life and whether or not they take the help and guidance she’s offering is their choice, but he just wants to hold on and never let go of his child. That scared and maybe selfish part of him almost wishes that someone else’s child was chosen to carry the gift Namara has, but he knows what is happening must be for a reason... his spirit man knows that deep down but his mind is trying to deny that something could change. Namak also knows deep down inside himself that his daughter needs to experience life... no matter the good or bad. Especially in a world filled with evil and flaws, even the people that wanna live peacefully can’t because the world doesn’t work that way. He knows this is something his daughter will have to go through on her own most times, but he decides in this moment he can be bold just like his daughter and not hold back on his emotions. Namak’s hands bring his daughter closer to him, his right hand settling upon her head, “Namara... I love you. Oh, my princess I adore you actually! I admit I feel as though I have failed you, that I wasn’t a good enough father... and maybe I wasn’t most days? But, despite the good or b-bad days I have always loved you, I have always tried and wanted to protect you—“ Namak pauses to let out a sob into his daughter’s hair—“and I am scared! I am petrified and horrified at what may lie ahead... I feel terrible saying this to you when you are already s-so worried, but you... you are not like me and your mother. You have a certain kind of bravery where we didn’t. You are still so young and able to understand that some things must happen whether you like it or not, and maybe that’s something me and your mother should have realized a long time ago...” Namak pulls his daughter away from his shoulder to look her in the eyes, “I realize I have to let you go someday. A-And I won’t like it, but I will have to accept it. I love you Namara... so much it hurts my heart, but I love you. Even though I’ll have to let you go into this world and I don’t know if we will see each other again... my strength will always be with you. Please Namara, keep the love you have and make sure nothing perverts it.” Namak can’t help but to cry again when he sees his daughter’s lower lip once again trembling, at his words or the situation he didn’t know. And he wouldn’t be surprised if it was a bit of everything overwhelming his daughter. Namara looks between her mother and father and wonders how she was blessed with amazing parents? She doesn’t know why her father feels as if he’s failed? While she is sure they have made mistakes while raising her... she admits she loves them too much to really hold onto those mistakes since all was forgiven in the end, so why has her father not forgiven himself yet? Namara’s voice lets out a hiccup as she is crying again, her left hand grabbing onto her father and her right hand grabbing onto her mother who moved to settle down next to the king at some point. The young girl can’t see anything from her teary eyes and she let’s out a sniffle, “I-I don’t know i-if I will ever see you both again. I-I want you b-both to know I think you are the b-best parents and you didn’t fail me! Did y-you have moments where you m-made a mistake? Yes. B-But to me the good h-has outweighed the bad and thank you for being my daddy and mommy!” Namara jumps into her parents arms once again, closing her eyes tightly as her sobbing shakes her body she feels her parents arms wrapping around her with strength, comfort and love. The little family sits in each other’s arms for as long as this moment will last. Namak and Sabana don’t know how long they’ve been sitting on the throne room floor just holding onto their child and taking in every feature she has: the beauty mark below her right eye, her long and fanned out eyelashes, her plump and pink lips just like her mother’s, her long hair and small hands; she’s a pretty girl. Her father is grateful they were able to hide her away from other kingdom’s for the most part... he doesn’t even wanna imagine the marriage proposals that’d come in from other kings on behalf of their sons. He finds his brow furrowing at the thought some kings would try and ask on behalf of themselves... the creeps— his thoughts are cut off when he feels a gentle hand rubbing across his brow and when he looks up he beholds his wife smiling at him with puffy eyes. And yet she still looks so gorgeous to him. “Husband, stop thinking such things. The more you frown the more wrinkles will appear.” Sabana lets out a giggle at how silly her husband can be, smiling when she feels his powerful hand grab onto hers settled on his cheek, “Sabana... you know it would be true. I am blessed we were able to shield her for this long... I hoped to be able to shield her for longer.” Namak looks down sadly at their daughter once again and turns his head back up when his wife stands, motioning him to get up also. “Come husband. She will sleep with us tonight, heaven knows we should have been asleep long ago. But... I am happy this moment happened—“ Sabana pauses with a smile as she watches her husband stand with Namara held in his strong arms—“despite the worry I still feel and the sadness. I also feel a great peace at what has been said today. I am glad she now knows for sure how sorry we are and how much we truly love her.” Sabana takes hold of her husband’s arm as he leads the way to their room, she knows he still is struggling with something on his mind and so she patiently awaits for her husband to speak of what it is. Namak gently sets Namara down in the middle of the bed and takes off his boots and jewelry to lie down, seeing his wife do the same and as they settle their daughter in-between them he feels he is brave enough to speak his mind. ”Sabana...you said our daughter knows that we truly loved and cared for her. B-But how can we truly love her if we give her away to some man? What kind of love is that?” Namak hears his wife’s breath hitch and waits until she feels like speaking, “Namak...I admit I have also thought of this. A-And I admit I don’t know myself? But I never told you the extent of the dream I had when Namara was eight...I remember seeing two outcomes of giving her away—“ Sabana let’s out a whisper shout—“Please don’t interrupt yet! I remember seeing us trying to fight... that didn’t end too well, some of our people were killed and taken as slaves and the rest were left to pick up the pieces of our torn kingdom. The second choice must have correlated to what Namara saw... we chose to give her away peacefully and the men that came to take her left peacefully. Of course I do not know if they turned on us in the future, b-but, while I may not like it I do believe our daughter when she says that she wants us to give her away.” Namak hears the bit of distress in his wife’s voice and finds her hand in the moonlit room, squeezing her hand in comfort and sighing, “I-... don’t like this either. But... whatever our daughter wants to do we’ll do it. How is she able to make such a choice though? She is only a child? I feel wrong already for doing such a thing... what if—“ The man takes a deep breath before continuing—“What if she ends up resenting us in the future?” Sabana grips onto her husband’s hand and settles their intertwined hands upon their daughter’s stomach, rubbing his knuckles with her thumb gently, “That is a possibility. If she ever does... it’d hurt, but I wouldn’t be mad over her choice. And that’s for the future, that of which even I don’t know. Go to sleep my king and let’s save those things for when the time comes.” Vetak and Sabana lie down with thoughts of what would happen tomorrow.
