At the end of last year. I took a course in macroeconomics. Gotta take care of those electives baby. Sure as hell ain't taking another feminism course! I’m already retarded. I don’t want to get even more retarded. Hahaha! Anyways, back on topic. The macroeconomic course. Among other things. I learned that inflation is a lagging indicator. CPI is a lagging indicator because CPI is too slow to accurately capture shifting consumer demands. I thought to myself. Is there a better way to represent inflation? https://i.ani.me/0327/2911/grey.jpg I later came across mathematician Eric Weinstein and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor. Eric Weinstein states that economist represent inflation by a scalar. When in reality. Inflation is more accurately represented as a [vector] field. Eric Weinstein gave a temperature analogy to inflation. I said “yes.” I think that is exactly it. Inflation is not a scalar. Inflation is closer to gradient vector field. Michael Saylor also fundamental said the same thing as Eric Weinstein. Michael Saylor simply expands on the idea even further. Michael Saylor uses beautiful mathematical language to explain inflation. I think what Michael Saylor said about inflation went over Tucker Carlson’s head. I felt the sigh that Michael Saylor made when Tucker Carson said,” so it sounds that the people causing the inflation are lying about inflation.” Um no, they are not lying. It is a lot more complex and subtle, then to simply say that the government is lying. As Eric Weinstein says, “it is a data typing problem.” The economist determining CPI are utilizing the wrong type of model for inflation. An average inflation number does not accurately represent inflation across the country. Some parts of the country might have higher inflation. Other parts of the country might have lower inflation. CPI does not capture the nuance in inflation variability across the nation. Hence why a gradient vector field is more suitable for inflation. What is a gradient vector field for inflation? To the temperature analogy. Think of the temperature map that you see in the news. Now instead of each city having a different temperature number above it. Think of inflation as the number above every city. Areas with more red represent more inflation. Bluer areas represent lower inflation. So no, the government is not lying. The scalar based CPI models are wrong. Yes, even the 1980s and 1990s CPI models are wrong. As old government CPI models have pretty much the same problem as the current CPI models. https://i.ani.me/0327/2911/grey.jpg I go on these long rambles. I have not fully flushed out my thoughts. So much to say on inflation and the CPI. I might make a part 2 comparing the old CPI models from the 1980s and 1990s to the current CPI model. Maybe… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iilIiV8jZDE . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhLv-iJMfSE
