https://myanimelist.net/anime/2981/Chika_Gentou_Gekiga__Shoujo_Tsubaki When I watched it for the first time I was seriously upset and felt horrible and I've watched Corpse party before hand.... I throught that was the worst thing in Anime/Manga form and then I found a genre called GURO... don't search for it you won't like it... hust*

@gdmh39 GURO is ꒰•̫͡•ོ꒱...*smiles~most manga/games of that genre won't be animated...I saw a few fans' uncommon but harmless fetishes꒰•̫͡•ོ꒱. A few old dark anime like Devilman was re-made~But some storylines must be abridged.. It occurred to me EP4 of Madoka heh, some people also said it was dark..

@空幻 I think it was more drama than dark theme? So long ago i can't remember the story... I seriously don't want any of that GURO to be animated the poor souls who needs to draw those things... mai-chan just don't do it

LOL if you scared of guro dont ever look up niku niku (a Visual Novel). Its literally what made the genre famous in Japan. It is absolutely terrifying. While more recent anime tend to be light-hearted, they do come out with dark things on occassion. On the other hand VNs like Kara no Shoujo, Cartagra, subahibi and Saya no Uta are amongst the darkest things ever written.

@Gil-Kun Not scared of GURO more like disgusted (not anymore) and I don't recommend it to anyone. I went on a GURO streak for a while... Like when you watch gore movies and it's disgusting but you can't stop...

Guro can be legit traumatic. Specially the way its presented. For example in a war type anime peoples hands get cut off even there heads. People get stabbed. People get killed. We watch it and think its awesome and move on. However in VNs like Cartagra it is very different. The visual novel tells the story of a serial killer. Not only are his victims brutally killed they are cut up in various disturbing ways. You read from the pov of a detective solving this case. What is disturbing about guro, or at least how it is portrayed here, is not the death or gore, but the psychology behind it. Why does he get satisfaction in killing like this. What where the victims feelings before and during. These are places which tend to terrify me much more than the gore in itself. Yet some of these stories are really good (its one of the best multiple route mysteries ever written) and I end up reading them. I kind of agree that you cant look away at these scene no matter how much you want too.
