'Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san' Ep.01 (Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs) https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1483/93141.jpg Synopsis: Fuyuzora Kogarashi has the ability to see supernatural, and has been possessed by ghosts since he was a kid. This has caused a lot of trouble in his life, but now he has learned to fight back against the evil spirits! Unfortunately, he's now also very poor, homeless, and hoping for a happier, more normal, high school life. In his search for housing, he's introduced to a very cheap boarding house called Yuragi Manor, which was formerly a popular hot springs inn. It's so cheap because the house is haunted by the spirit of a high school student whose corpse was found there. Kogarashi doesn't think this is going to be a problem for him, and the rest of the house's tenants appear to be sexy women. While relaxing in the hot springs, though, he finds there is an issue with his ghost-banishing plan; Yuragi Manor's ghost is a 16-year-old girl named Yuna, who lives in his room. Kogarashi has no desire to hurt a ghost girl, and instead he ends up agreeing to help her to figure out her unfinished business. That way, she can move onto the afterlife before turning evil and falling into hell. Once it is clear that he is fine with Yuna, the other tenants reveal their own supernatural secrets—his life in Yuragi Manor is going to be far from ordinary! ____________________________________ This is an ecchi harem romance comedy about a guy living with a ghost and 4 other women. That's probably more than enough info for people to decide if they wanna watch it or not.

'Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro' Ep.02 Oh geez... I laughed so hard. It's actually pretty comical.

'Happy Sugar Life' Ep. 01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1086/91313.jpg Synopsis This is a shivering pure love psycho horror story of a girl named Satou Matsuzaka, who has someone she likes. She experiences a sweet feeling when she sleeps with her, and thought it must be love. Everything will be forgiven as long as she protects this feeling, even if she tricks, commits crimes, steals, or even kills, she thought. _________________________ Don't let the name confuse you. This is seriously twisted. And that girl is a psycho. This is a horror anime centered around a loli character as the unwitting victim. It's pretty messed up all the way around.

'Lord of Vermilion - Guren no Ou' Ep. 01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1121/91419.jpg Synopsis: Set in Tokyo, it's January 29, 2030. High-frequency resonance is observed in the vicinity of Tokyo, and the red fog rolls into the city. Those who hear the sound, humans and animals alike, pass out, losing consciousness. Everything shuts down in Tokyo, believing that the fog is carrying an unknown virus that causes an epidemic. However, six days later, after the incident, people wake up as if nothing happened. After that, Tokyo's sealed-off city sections gradually return to normal. However, since the high-frequency resonance, some "bizarre events" start to happen, and people find themselves being pulled deeper into more mysteries. Meanwhile, young people start to become aware of themselves and release their power hidden in their blood, discovering themselves as "vessel of wisdom blood." Together, being led by something unknown, they meet, communicate, and face the unavoidable circle of fate, sacrificing their own lives. _______________________ This one is hard to review. The animation style was good, but the plot... It was pretty out there. If I had to compare it to something, I'd have to say, Deadman Wonderland. An on a side note, I'm not sure if it was intended, but it also had kind of a yaoi vibe going on at the start. Will definitely have to watch another episode to get a better feel for it.

That's the 3rd anime I've watched today where the opening scene seemed like the ending.

'Grand Blue' Ep.01' https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1011/92109.jpg Synopsis: Among the seaside town of Izu's ocean waves and rays of shining sun, Iori Kitahara is just beginning his freshman year at Izu University. As he moves into his uncle's scuba diving shop, Grand Blue, he eagerly anticipates his dream college life, filled with beautiful girls and good friends. But things don't exactly go according to plan. Upon entering the shop, he encounters a group of rowdy, naked upperclassmen, who immediately coerce him into participating in their alcoholic activities. Though unwilling at first, Iori quickly gives in and becomes the heart and soul of the party. Unfortunately, this earns him the scorn of his cousin, Chisa Kotegawa, who walks in at precisely the wrong time. Undeterred, Iori still vows to realize his ideal college life, but will things go according to plan this time, or will his situation take yet another dive? ___________________________ Ugh... Couldn't they have started the story without the naked guys running rampant? Is it really that crucial to the story? What a messed up plot. This is supposed to be a comedy / slice of life. Apparently there's no dress code for his college. Like requiring you to wear shoes... or pants... Talk about f'd up. Apparently this is a story about how to ruin your college life and flunk out.

'Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria' Ep. 02 It's like a bad cross between a war anime and a harem anime, with corny bad cliché lines.

'Harukana Receive' Ep.02 I still think this one was fairly well done. More so than the badminton anime. It's a little over dramatic, but the characters connect with you more as you're watching. On a side note, it did kind of feel like there was a lot of fan service. Like every anime has the beach episode, only in this anime it's every episode. :P But it doesn't really take away from the story, unlike the other harem anime this season.

I won't include sequels as I'd much rather talk about new shows instead. With that being said, here's what I'm watching/still finding enjoyment from (along with one that hasn't aired yet): Osmosis JoJo- I mean Cells at Work: A cute show about the human body and how it works. The platelets are easily the closest thing to weaponizing adorable that I've ever seen, and then I remember how long platelets typically live for and now I'm sad... Angels of Death: Hopefully it won't go down the route of Corpse Party as far as RPG Maker game anime go, but if nothing else it'll be a fun schlocky horror series to enjoy if it does. Also, I REALLY don't like Zack/Isaac, or rather I do when I realize he's just this edgy Jack the Ripper wannabe dragged off the street to be put in what I want to say is a death game ala Danganronpa/Zero Escape (can you tell I haven't played the game and am just guessing as I continue watching?) but on the other hand his laugh is like a voice going through a cheese grater and every time I hear it I feel like Rachel does. Hanebado: I like Badminton. I prefer Tennis, but Badminton is pretty neat also and as someone who actively played both in high school (and would gladly play more now if I had people around in my area who actually wanted to go outside and do things) I'm really enjoying this one more than a lot of other sport shows I've watched based on personal experience alone. (Though Haikyuu is still pretty great, and if we bring boxing into this then of course I'm including Megalo Box along with Ippo and Joe if I had watched either. Still need to get around to doing that...) My only hope for this one is that the animation quality of the matches remains consistent. Back Street Girls: This show is either going to be really funny, horribly offensive, or BOTH! Regardless, I found myself laughing quite a bit during the first episode, but not nearly enough compared to other comedy shows I've watched so I don't know what to think as of now. Middle Manager Tonegawa (I'll still count this one since it's a spin-off): I ADORE Kaiji, so more Kaiji is always pretty dope and more than welcome even if it's just focusing on a side character and is more comedy based than about gambling. (But these visual gags are amazing though.) Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation: I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm a HUGE sucker for paranormal/supernatural investigation type shows (Martin Mysteries, one of the few "Canadian anime" or anime inspired shows made up here, and other shows like it were my jam growing up) plus I read a bit of the manga a good while back and really enjoyed that so this is on my most anticipated list of upcoming shows for this year in general.
