Anime 2018 Summer Season

And I'm ok with that. It almost reminds me of two series, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? (Is this a Zombie?) and Madoka Magica. It almost does.

'Phantom in the Twilight' Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1909/93153.jpg Synopsis: Set in modern day London, the story takes place in a world where "Shadows" are born from human fear and anxiety. A young girl arrives to study abroad, only to be caught in a bizarre incident as she enters university. In a city with no acquaintances, the helpless girl wanders into "Café Forbidden," a mysterious café that exclusively opens at midnight. She meets an assortment of handsome men employed at the café, where guardians who protect the boundary between humans and shadow convene. _______________________________________ Hmm... This one is hard to review. It wasn't bad, but this kind of story isn't my thing. The characters were really typical. Plus the plot wholes... It was a bit forced... And I'm not really a fan of modern vampires, or pre-madonna pretty boys. On another note, how on earth did that girl survive the first 18 years of her life. She raises death flags every time she turns around.

'Angolmois - Genkou Kassenki' Ep.01 https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1981/92678.jpg Synopsis: The scary great king comes from the other side of the sea… The big incident ‘Genkou‘ that shook medieval Japan is being drawn in an original way in this historical anime, along with the beginning of the Samurai…! _____________________________________ This was more interesting than I expected. The character style is a bit older, but they did a good job of it. Incase you missed it in the synopsis, this is yet another war anime. Though it's still hard to say whether or not they're going to take the typical route. The only thing that bothered me about the show so far is when enemy leapt back onboard his ship. That was some serious Naruto style superhuman ability, which suggest realism isn't the direction they're going. Still all in all in was a good first episode. I'm looking forward to the next one.

'Free!: Dive to the Future' Ep.01 (3rd Season) https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1517/92608.jpg Synopsis: Haruka, who is attending college in Tokyo, meets Asahi again and reawakens his memories from his middle school years, including those of Ikuya. Makoto is working toward a new dream while he is in Tokyo together with Haruka. Rin has an unexpected meeting in Sydney.

'Overlord III' Ep. 01 (3rd Season) https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/1319/91709.jpg Synopsis: Didn't really have one. It's the 3rd season. If you haven't seen it yet, Yggdrasil was a virtual reality game, and Ainz Ooal Gown was a dark guilt of monster avatars. In the final hour of the game before the servers were shut down, one member stayed logged in, and he got sucked into the game, and the game world became his new reality, and his monster avatar was now his body. And the npc's in his guild hall are now alive. _____________________________________ Nothing special from the first episode, except maybe the last 10 seconds. It was mostly the usual comedic banter typical of the first two seasons.

'Shichisei no Subaru' Ep.02 This one still screams of hacksign and SAO. Still it's interesting, but as a gamer I'm kind of a sucker for these kinds of shows. The characters are typical, where they pick one trait and exaggerate it, and that becomes the characters personality. So no well rounded characters so far. But the story is interesting enough to make up for it I think, despite it's obvious plot holes. If you like anime like SAO, this might be one for you to watch.

I've seen episode 1, I liked it. I can't wait to see how it rolls out.

'Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu' Ep. 02 This is definitely an ecchi harem type anime. It was comical though. I was surprised by the actual thought put into the plot. I'm actually kind of curious how things will develop despite the main character being so over powered.

I just finished watching that episode. It's following the manga to an extent. I don't want to spoil anything, but there's a reason why everyone is surprised by his "magic". Hopefully they'll explain it in the next episode or two. But yeah, things do get interesting later. I just hope it goes for either 24 episodes, or a season 2, like with Overlord.

lol, that is kind of a spoiler, but it would kind of make sense from what they talked about in this episode.
