I joined during highschool, became the Prez the 2 years later. What happen is during lunch breaks we would watch anime :P Depending on the Prez, they might organize a club trip to an anime convention. Once I graduated and went to University, I joined the university anime club too. We watch anime on Saturdays, but unlike high school the series were well selected and we watch from 1 pm to 10pm ( I left at 6pm usually). There is some meet ups, where we go out and eat. I can assure you that everyone that goes to anime club are nice people and easy to socialize with.

I was in a anime/manga club in university. People were nice and we had anime viewing nights at times. Club room had some manga in it to read and a tv to watch too. Meeting people and talking with them was easy even though I was and still am a introverted guy. Finding like minded people with the same hobby helpded me to socialize and open up a bit. I even was the vice president for the club for two years and helped at a table in two conventions where we promoted the club. I didn't even imagine that I would do such a thing when I joined but things just happened and I'm happy that they did. If there are good people in the clubs where anyone is then I highly recommend trying those clubs out. You might learn, grow, meet or experience something/someone important to you.

When I was in High School several years ago, I did join the school's Anime Club, and one of my former Math teachers was a sponsor for it. I'd say it was fun.

Yup, I was in one back in uni. It was both good and bad. The good part was that I met my former best friend through it which made uni a lot more fun. The bad part was there were a bunch of elitists in the club who only liked really old anime and didn't watch any modern ones. It kinda sucked since a lot of them had deciding power on what we watched. But yeah, I would say it was more good than bad tbh. It is only cringy if you make it out to be that way. It really depends on what you make of it and how you would like to personally enjoy it

My high school actually has a really great anime club that is part of our school's after school program! I met my best friends in our anime club and I've had so many life changing experiences because of the people I met in my anime club - literally. Heartbreak, joy, laughter, sadness, everything. I've learned so many lessons that'll stick with me the rest of my life. I hope none of that sounded too sappy, but the point is that my anime club has had such a significant impact on my life. If anyone is considering joining one, or even just starting one up from scratch, I would highly recommend it.

currently in an anime club at my college. pretty fun group of nerds, Though attendance has been low these last 2 year (my sophomore and Junior year) so I'm hoping the freshman this year come on the regular basis.

Joined one near the end of Junior High, it was a mess. First meeting was fine, nothing major, just a group of like 15ish? crowded in an art room together. Though, it went down pretty fast, we started losing members, supervisor didn't watch anime and whatever the president recommended didn't pass to watch in school. Ended up going to 3 or 4 meetings before I just stopped going. Vice president also attempted to steal my yugioh cards, but I don't fault that with the club lol.

I was in a local one years ago. I had been out of high school for awhile, and most other members were too. We were all in the 16-25ish range. But it was managed poorly, most members weren't interested in much anime discussion over faboying/fangirling, and of course there was plenty of drama and awkwardness. So, it wasn't too great of an experience.
