Sword Art Online

The abridged version by SWE ist krieg!!! As for the real thing... To me, the first arc of Season 1 was one of the best things I ever saw, then the second arc of season 2 was straight-up appalling. Season 2 kind of balanced the two extremes of Season 1. Both arcs of season 2 were nowhere near as good as the first arc of season 1, but both are also equally distant from the terrible as that is the second arc of season 1. That leaves SAO as kind of "meh". Certainty not the best anime ever, but also far from the worst. Still, it is overrated.

I thought the first series concept was great and intriguing. Didn't watch all the second series. Couldn't quite emotionally attach to it and kinda lost interest ✌

For me it fell apart when I realized how horrible of SAO is in terms of game design... for every single game it showed.

I love SAO and still it was tough for me to accept that something that was new back then suddenly turned into a shojo with all the lovey dovey in that cottage and then BAM it ended up as a harem!!! Noooo!!! And still I have watched it all, and Sinon was a great character and the gunner idea yet they screwed it badly. Whyyy?

@ryetrap seriously? that's your complaint? Of all the stuff that went wrong, poor game design? @asukaangel yeah, the harem is a horrible anime cliché they really need to reign in. Having one romantic rival is one thing, but sheesh. I don't know if shojo is the right way to describe it. More like written by an overly horny teenager wanting to play at love. Still I did like SAO, but maybe that's cause I turned a blind eye to it.

I said shojo 'cause all the married like couple in that cottage, and even their "daughter"... I was like whaaat? And Asuna was such a badass in the game and then ended up passive and dependent girl waiting to be rescued... Hell why?!!!
