What is the 1st anime you watched that turned you into an Otaku??

Partially, Ouran High School Host Club, since it was the first anime I've watched but while I was watching it I didn't know anime was a thing and thought it was just a Japanese cartoon, didn't think much of it. Although few years later a friend introduced me to Black Butler and I was already into otome and new that anime existed. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to watch more. So basically I guess partially Ouran but mostly Kuroshitsuji. :)

Well... Always loved watching Dragonball Z as a kid on TV... and whatever else Toonami fed me. But what truly opened me up to the world of Anime was Naruto... through it and an ad to some old streaming site... I discovered I could watch anime... ON THE INTERNET! At that point I was hooked for life.

Technically It was Eureka Seven. I used to watch bionix, which introduced me to naruto, gundam seed destiny and death note. However that was when I was young and didn't see these shows as "anime" and kinda forgot about them for years. However I remember a really cool scene from Eureka seven, which I watched on Bionix, and once I found the scene and the anime, watching it fully opened my eyes to the world of anime.

I watched pokemon, digimon, and sailor moon when I was young vut didn't know they were anime. I would say I became an otaku when my friend explained the whole forst episode of ouran high school host club to mean with pencils in science class XD! (We were in seventh grade) I went home and watch the whole anime in a day and a half.

I watched pokemon inuyasha, zatch bell and avatar before I was aware of what anime really was. maybe naruto and dbz as well. the anime that hard got me into this stuff and made me realized the animation style is connected was Lucky Star.
