Subs or Dubs

phantomdark
ill have to say both

I prefer subbed, but when it comes to things I originally saw dubbed (DBZ, FLCL and Inuyasha etc etc...), I prefer them dubbed. Although some shows like Mushi-Shi are still really well done dubbed, along with Monoke and most of Miyazaki's work.

I tend to stick with Subs unless I've seen the series previously in its original language and then I give the dubs a test. Most of the time, I go back to subs but in the past, I enjoyed a couple of animes which were dubbed into Latin-American Spanish (Since I live in Chile and our main language is Spanish) At least for me, the best dubbed series in Latin-American Spanish are Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z, Ranma 1/2, Rurouni Kenshin (which was called Samurai X 'cause the company who dubbed the series in Venezuela, used the scripts from the US dub'), Detective Conan, Evangelion, and Sailor Moon.

I like dubs on most things like naruto or champloo but i hate the dubbed Inuyasha.

Just like atticuselias said, dbz is probably 1 of maybe 3 animes that I will watch dubbed, everything else has to be subbed. Anime just seems to have it's own charm and humor when it's in the original language.

Subs. Most dubs I find are just horribly done. I'm not saying all of them are, but I don't find many that I can take seriously. I'll watch dubs if it's not badly done, like Spice and Wolf.

Personally, I prefer subs because dubs lose the 'feel' of the animation. Dubbing any language over its native spoils it for me. There are some exceptions, but very few and only because the dub is so bad it actually loops round to being awesome!

Once again, why can't folks just enjoy Anime their way without all the debate? I have watched Anime probably longer than anyone on this site and I like Dubs. However, I would not presume to tell anyone else how to enjoy it. I realize that most of you are not doing that, but you run into folks that get all uppity about Subs and the original language thing. There, ......I fell better now........

I watch subbed anime, if only cause the dubs may not always stick to the feel the original subbed anime had... Does that make sense? Plus, in the case of stuff like Hetalia, they can sometimes just sound really ridiculous. ><

Some English Dubs are good like Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, and Hetalia. At least to me. Watching them in English Dubs are much easier than having to watch both what the subtitles say and what the characters are doing. It is also good to have a good English Dubbing series for friends who are not into anime, but to watch for good fun or show others about anime with an English Dub before showing the English Sub/Japanese Dub. It also depends on the company that does dubbed the series. But all in all, I prefer English Dubs for some series like Hetalia, Elfen Lied, Black Butler, Cowboy Bebop, and the upcoming Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Things from the Japanese Dub/English Subs are Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Oreimo, and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni.
