@Nekorin: Who's to say it isn't? https://muscletfloverhome.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/tumblr_noaxno0ar81r0uumto1_r1_1280.jpg?w=1100 @Lamby: Sound advice if you are telling a story, as too much blatant expositing can really bog it down and get in the way. In fact, when actually running a game, its generally better to do that, unless the bard decides he wants to make a knowledge check. I generally prefer to do the whole "More than the players will ever know" approach. They don't need to know that the sword with then engraving of an oak tree belonged to a respectable warrior of Scarlough who met his demise at the hands of a creature that was since starved to death after the barrow was sealed the first time. All they know is "Hey, there's this barrow that monsters have moved into and started using as their base, and we just found this skeleton with a masterwork sword, so he might have been doing pretty well off for himself. Maybe there's more treasure around here somewhere." ...Unless that damn bard... @Baka(Rynehart): Actually, yeah. I agree. Leaving things open to interpretation is generally a better idea, since it keeps things flexible. Its something I learned when doing a lot of online RPs in Gaiaonline. You want to be specific enough to not be vague, and give the imaginations of your players something to work with, but you also want to sort of give them a bit of ambiguity for them to define their characters for themselves. @Acacia: Ah, okay! Yeah, that pretty much is exactly what I said. XD So what are some of the drawbacks and advantages that has given your group so far?

Mostly positive. SOme great things have arisen. Some of the short stories and characters made by people other than the DM are actually really good. And then the DM uses them as NPCs in our campaigns. Its pretty wicked. Negatives: -Constant editing and retocnning is needed IF you want it all to be consistent (many writers make much chaos) -We got this one guy... and he is very... edgy... and unfortunately he doesn't have much of a life and most of our wiki is just his half-demon half-dragon hald-furry bullshit family drama and last of their kind mary sues. (but we hardly reference it in the main stories)

Oh! XD Yeah. I know those sorts from my Gaia RP days. Half the reason why I always screened people to make sure they were a good fit. Less of an option if you know them IRL though. But yeah, I hadn't really thought of doing it for a D&D campaign until relatively recently, so I'm glad to hear its working for you guys. One of these times, I might have to pester you into letting me get a peak at your wiki. (Not to steal ideas or anything, just to observe the process and admire your works)

60% is that one guy so yeah... just be careful.
